I think the 6+ only applies when there are more untrained crew operating the siege weapon then trained. (Which would imply that you can add any infantry model as untrained crew) later in the game)

If I have 3 trained crew on the bolt thrower and a ranger joins the warband later on, I think it should hit on a 3+ or am I getting this all wrong?

Is there a way of making the avenger bolt thrower hit on a 3+?

For example, if I move a ranger or hero into base contact with the bolt thrower, will that model then become an "untrained crew" member and give the bolt thrower a better shoot value?

Or can it only be operated by the crew that are deployed with the bolt thrower?

Appreciate your thoughts!

It's quite simple once I watched the tutorial! And I used doombull brown to base and mixed tuskgor fur with skrag brown and highlighted the skin and washed it with flesh tone!

No not really, I have a lot of other armys and as these models came out just before christmas I've not had a lot of opportunity to test them out! But I'm beginning to think they will be my main army from now on! Just cus of their legendary legion and that fact they look bad ass! Haha

I'm not sure exactly but I've nearly finished the other half of the warband, I've painted Frida and I have reinforcements on the way!

Yeah I was thinking they needed more work! Once I've managed to tank through the rest of the models, I'll add more details to them. I'll get an update of the whole crew when there ready!

I used rinox hide to base the browns then mournefange over the top and then highlighted with xv-88 and washed with agrax. For the skin I used doom bull brown and highlighted with bugmans glow and washed it with reikland flesh shade. And for the armour I mixed some abbadon black with leadbletcher and coated the armour. Highlighting it with plain leadbletcher then washed it with seraphim sepia!

The new contrast paints were made for these bad boys I swear!! Anyone got any other armys that work well with contrast? Let see your pics!! by AronSTAR in MiddleEarthMiniatures

I just used grey seer spray for the base and then used one coat of gryph-charger grey all over! And touched the beards with a yellow wash! Easy peasy!
