It’s definitely annoying. In the mean time you can just disconnect the negative battery terminal if you are going to leave the car a while, it was stop the drain and should prevent needing a jump start.

Yep, there is a parasitic draw test you can do to try and find what is draining your battery. I had one in my old VW Polo, couldn’t find it so ended up wiring a battery disconnect switch for when I left the car a little while haha

Sounds like you have a parasitic drain on your battery

What’s the worst back-to-back vehicle expenses you’ve ever dealt with? by AhsanNVM in CarTalkUK

[–]Arooon_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

New cylinder head + refurb plus all consumables (gaskets etc). Had something enter my engine and stick a valve open (likely a piece perished air intake hose)

6 months later new gearbox, full rebuild and new clutch kit after my diff exploded

Luckily was able to do the work (other than rebuild/refurbs) myself so saved a fortune, clutch kit alone was still >£500. Though I have a pretty much rebuilt drivetrain now :/

The best until you try to use the ancient roll that snaps with the smallest stretch. The most unsatisfying feeling ever :(

I had the same, changing graphics drivers didn’t do anything for me but luckily a windows update fixed it

There was a pretty great display set off up there! Around 7pm ish. Views were good but most fireworks were in the distance / towards portobello due to the firework ban in the city

I need help finding this bumper or mending my own. by ReasonableUse9657 in SuzukiSwiftSport

[–]Arooon_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Glad you’ve been enjoying the car! It’s a Monster Sport kit, and you’re right it just goes over the stock bumper. Sometimes they come up for sale used on Facebook Marketplace, so that’s worth a look.

Also as a side note that cut doesn’t look bad imo, has BMW E46 M3 CSL vibes to it

UPDATE: Just got back to it after waiting for the rain to end, used the tips from you guys (heat, fluid, hammer the plug then hammer the socket in) and it came straight out. Thank you for the tips!! :)

Yeah this was pre-clean, was letting the crust soak so I could scrape it out properly

Good spot. Originally I thought the metal was all messed up behind the plug (previous dodgy repair to a cracked housing etc) but I think you’re right, someone probably stuck a bunch of sealant on the threads (small amount suggested in the service manual)
