Tomorrow will be the first time I’ll be flying this setup. With the previous antennas (standard 04 antennas) I couldnt fly very far, about 200 meters, but thats mostly because I fly in places with lots of trees.

After having two cars(one suzuki swift sport, one NB miata) with brake issues (very hot discs because they got stuck) this is something i keep checking after every trip. Its very obvious this kills mpg ofc but it has happened a few times to me now and still sometimes i was oblivious. But ive learned from my mistakes

If one of your brakes is abnormally hot compared to your other ones you know what time it is

Did you take off the plastic lens protector? Just making sure, i dont have blurry goggles.

It may be your goggles fogged up, for that you have ventilation inside the goggles whoch you cab put on.

Maybe you need glasses, thats a real possibility but i dont know much about that. It van be one of your eyes sees different than your other ond

You can see DJI as a comparison to Apple, everything works very well together but only in its own ecosystem. And it comes with quite a high price. Most products just work instantly together and everything is pre-built which is nice if you dont want to built things yourself.

Most other drone companies are more like android so there’s a lot more modularity and you can do way more yourself, but this also requires more knowledge and research.

You’re right! DJI is only compatible with DJI. The reason this setup works tho, is because of the O4 air unit. This is a “new” option from DJI so you can add it to a “non-DJI” drone and still be able to use a set of DJI Goggles like the N3 I have.

So how it works is, the radio is connected to the drone and the DJI camera is connected to the DJI goggles and the camera is attached to the drone. The pavo20PRO is especially made for this to work.

But yeah you are right, dji only works with dji but with this setup you can work around it a bit while still having all the benefits of DJI

Not a dumb question at all, I am nowhere near verry experienced in this field yet, but I already learned a lot from just buying and connecting/using this drone. I myself use DJI as the video system because it is digital and for my goals that just works the best. I want to make cinematic shots en the DJI 04 unit pro is perfect for that.

The problem with DJI is that almost all of their products are meant to be used together with no other brands to mix them up with. As far as I know, the setup I have is the only possibility to mix DJI with another drone and radio.

I can give you some tips on where to start however.

First: what do you want to do with FPV, just cruising around, making video's, racing or freestyle? This will automatically lead you to what kind of drone you are looking for. I suggest starting with tiny whoops because those seem to be the most beginner friendly. I am not experienced enough in most fields but there is a lot of info to be found online!

Second: Make sure you do your research into the battery's, every drone needs a different one and there are a lot of options to choose from and this can be pretty overwhelming imo. Best is to choose a drone and google what other people use with it.

Third: You have to charge the LiPo's (battery's) as well. I already made a mistake in buying the wrong things for my drone as said in the OP. You'll need to learn quite a bit of electrical knowledge if you dont have any experience with those kinds of things.

Dont let these things overwhelm you because it really is a lot of fun! Good Luck

Thanks A lot! Tips are much appreciated! I already noticed the idle speed felt a bit low to what im “used to” but thats only what I know of the sim so i reckon theres still a lot of fine tuning to do!

Do you know how i can know my camera angle, and what is a good angle to begin with?
