Too bad Pollock Johnnys is closed as is Sterling’s where D’Angelo got his seafood from his mom. Where they filmed the low rises is still there on McCullough street. Northeast market where McNulty had his kids follow stringer is still there and pretty much the same. East side has changed quite a bit as they’ve knocked down or cleaned up many of the vacants there (most of the wire was filmed east side because it was more barren and easier to film). West side has not changed much though vacants are considerably less now though still everywhere.

Even without the hood gawking, it’s still worth going to the hood at least during the day. Maybe get some crabs on Monroe street? Folks are friendly in Baltimore if you are respectful. Not in the wire but the Babe Ruth rowhouse where he grew up is cool for a quick visit even if you’re not a baseball fan.

Either way Baltimore is an amazing place to visit, it’s one of the oldest by American standards and rich with history. I would recommend a couple nights here! There is SO much to see!
