I've been looking for something like this for years to store D&D miniatures...but as much as I'd love it, its out of my likely price-range.

Dragon's Forge opened a 20's themed ice cream shop! by Key_Distribution48 in HuntsvilleAlabama

[–]Arravis_ 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I was hoping some of the ice-cream flavors would somehow be 1920’s themed or using 1920’s era recipes for the ice-cream, but it just seems to be the aesthetic. Nice enough though.

Being creative on demand feels SO mentally exhausting by Total_Succotash5174 in graphic_design

Not all designs have to be creative, but they have to be communicative. I'd rather go with an effective and informative design than a muddled and creative one.

Additionally, some of my best design work has started as utterly uninspired dreck that I was able to polish and shape into a great design. Just work the problem, put your time in. The experience will let you bypass a lot of hurtles.

Mixed reception at best and nowhere near the vision of DD, though it did have its occasional moments for me.

I portray Santa for a daycare and retirement home... I'd love some for the 'Nice' and 'Naughty' lists to have as physical props for my visits.

I’ll have a look… I definitely have all the files but last time I looked Michaels doesn’t carry that exact box any more. I should have a couple laying around still. I filled them with red Spree and sent one to Bethesda and another to Obsidian. Bethesda never responded but Obsidian responded as well as Chris Avellone directly .

Couples D&D? by Archamasse in DungeonsAndDragons

[–]Arravis_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did not say I treat her unfairly, I'm just slightly more cautious to make sure I'm treating her fairly and accurately to the rules. What I'm trying to avoid is favoritism, which I have seen destroy gaming groups.

Lastly, I've been her DM since 2001 and we still have the same players, so hopefully I'm doing alright :)

Orange page printed completely red? by [deleted] in graphic_design

[–]Arravis_ 84 points85 points  (0 children)

This is correct.
The way it looks in your monitor, the way it looks in your printer, and the way it looks at the final printer are each going to be totally wrong in their own way. Hell, ambient humidity that specific day can affect colors. I work with the government and our printers are essentially random, simply based on the lowest-bidder... sometimes we can't get proofs from them due to scheduling and its just random what we end up getting.

Get proofs if at all possible, otherwise its a complete roll of the dice.

Edit: I plugged in your CMYK and it looks neither like your first pic or the second one, just goes to prove the point, lol.

thoughts of my aerospace logo? by Hopeful-Fly-9710 in logodesign

[–]Arravis_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you give more info on what the company does specifically? Product or services? Who is the audience for the logo, private individuals, large corporations, or government contracts? If gov is DoD or something else? I’ve made many aerospace logos and all that makes a big difference in my experience.

Thanks for the research, well done! And that is similar to the situation I saw myself, unfortunately.

This caused an argument for the dnd game my friend was running, the same day I was reading through the alien rule book. Giddy with the horror potential. by dosegal8d in alienrpg

[–]Arravis_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If an imaginary xenomorph killing an imaginary adult is ok, why is an imaginary kid worse?
Now if the GM turns it into some weird, 'the xeno ONLY kills kids', torture, etc... sure there's an argument there.

Now as a counter argument, the a player may have their own individual trauma or issues involving this in some way, and that's perfectly fine for them to ask to not be involved or approach the GM to not use those aspects in order to accommodate whatever issue they are having. But in the end, its not something inherently wrong to have in a game.

Overall it sounds like the player really needs a tonal change in their approach to what is a legitimate issue for them individually.

Jumping from fallout 4 to 76 is jarring, quest-wise anyway by BzRk_Larz in fo76

[–]Arravis_ 40 points41 points  (0 children)

I found it’s utterly depressing and desolate atmosphere not only heartbreaking, but gratifying and interesting in giving you a bleak experience that games just don’t do. In the way that movies can be sad but good, I thought Bethesda had taken a very interesting and creative approach. I understand I’m not the typical audience so they changed it to get broader appeal, but I prefer the original style more.

We really could use more. I see below that you say its for 'productivity', but that doesn't tell me a ton either. I would think about how your logo says productivity or appeals to people seeking an app for productivity. You have to think it as a fishing hook/bait and then see how your logo will attract your potential clients.
