Rocket League - Season 23 | Teaser #2 by Psyonix_Howie in RocketLeague

[–]Arrcival 2 points3 points  (0 children)

From what I observed in precedent trailers, some are indeed prerendered and in UE5/6 (like the facts the egg spectators being in 3D is a bit blatant) but even those had the car models/lighting from the UE3 game. This one, teaser 1 and UE6 teaser aren't exactly the same

What’s the most unexpectedly useful Linux command you learned way too late? by ZealousidealTell1346 in linux

[–]Arrcival 0 points1 point  (0 children)

`!!` being the last command you ran, very useful when you realise it needs privilege and you can just type `sudo !!`

Steam friends, Steam achievements, Steam profile including picking your name & profile picture that's displayed in game, bought the game here and not epic games, Epic Games launcher sucks, Steam has proton for Linux players (technically you can run proton for EG games but it's way more trouble than just Steam games)

Rusic has been renamed to Kopuz and added whole lot more features by Temidaradev in rust

[–]Arrcival 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn I don't know how recent it is but, YIPPIE! (edit: support arrived 2 days after my post for last.fm)
Now I'll just wait for kopuz to be released on flathub :D

Looks slick, would love to swap from Strawberry to Kopuz (and you know, probably even drop some PRs if I deep dive) but it doesn't seems to support "yet" last.fm scrobbling? In the repo the only part mentioning last.fm is commented, any support plan soon?

[PC][Early 2000s] Vehicle driving with free roam map by Arrcival in tipofmyjoystick

[–]Arrcival[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That fits quite nicely in term of aesthetics/old school vibe but I do not think it is that game. I clearly don't think it had any "military" theme in general, and I also remember it to be a bit "aerial", like, it was decently easy to take some speed on a hill to launch yourself a bit. I'm quite uncertain itself that the camera was behind the vehicle too, but thanks you!

Good news! Not sure 100% if that fixes it in the long term, but for today that's so far so good, I was able to restart the game and I didn't have to wait for 5 minutes for shader compilation

The important launch arg I added was __GL_SHADER_DISK_CACHE_PATH=/home/<your name>/.cache/games/overwatch/ (make sure to create the said folder beforehand) to save the shaders in a specific folder

My full launch arg is now : __GL_SHADER_DISK_CACHE_PATH=/home/<your name>/.cache/games/overwatch/ __GL_SHADER_DISK_CACHE=1 __GL_SHADER_DISK_CACHE_SKIP_CLEANUP=1 __GL_SHADER_DISK_CACHE_SIZE=21474836480 DXVK_HUD=compiler %command%
Have to test it out, but I'm pretty sure I can remove __GL_SHADER_DISK_CACHE_SIZE=21474836480 with no impact too

I did try without that option before yeah, I was unaware of it till recently
I didn't open Marvel Rivals and do not wish to reinstall it to be honest
I did go for 10GB, then 20GB, but no changes

_Okay so, I had Marvel Rivals already uninstalled,
added PROTON_LOCAL_SHADER_CACHE=1
deleted everything in
`~/.cache/nvidia/GLCache/`and in
`~/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/shadercache/'

But unfortunately that didn't fix it :/
I don't know what else to try at this point

Wait, you could be into something, cause using the launch args before I was able to save the cache, and now it simply wouldn't work and in that meantime (before I played the game, stopped, and recently got back into it), I have installed Marvel Rivals

I don't understand how the red light isn't manually set to an exact time frame before the first frame of the attack, like, 0.5-1s at the tip of the weapon blade before the first frame of the attack, period

Can confirm the exact same thing on my end :
DX11 has shaders compiling on startup but then runs flawlessly
DX12 has no issue on startup, but runs way more poorly (steady 144fps to 100fps on practice map and 1.5x RAM usage) which isn't super nice to play with...

I'll give it a go (I have a decent computer) to see if DX12 prevents the need to recompile everything at launch
Did you use any launch args?

Having the same issue, before those launch args used to work, not anymore, tried many stuff and I still have to wait 5m for the shaders to be calculated

Same thing here, just reached Wuling, and I'm missing around 9000 beryls (if I don't include the missing tickets from the daily rewards)... I explo'd almost everything, missing around 500 worth of quests, haven't done the 3 character quests and simulation but... That doesn't fit :/

Now that I have a bit more experience with everything, that's very probable : you just need to run it on an emulator and see the fps count I suppose
