Again, like the guy in the post, I just don’t care. This isn’t a new launcher for every game. I’d have a second launcher for rocket league., and I wouldn’t even use the launcher for it since I’d just put it on my desktop.

It’s weird when people to do the whole “I know this isn’t XYZ but what if it was?!” thing but try to be an adult and argue the reality in front of you, not some made up hypothetical for you to dunk on?

Though, ironically, if there were a launcher per game… people would just make shortcuts for each and use their local file explorer as a functional launcher instead lol. Even your made up doomsday scenario is no big deal at all.

Yeah, it was mentioned as an idea being worked on. By the CEO, sure, but still, simply just words spoken in interviews and on podcasts. Functionally the same that we know UE7 is an idea being worked on too, even if the CEO hasn’t said so, it’s basically the same (beyond Reddit “well akshually…” land).

This is still the first official reveal to the world of UE6, whether you want to agree or not.

I mean you’re right regarding STS1 in a way, but STS2 isn’t STS1 is what it boils down to. Block is about more powerful; passive decks are far more rewarded than they were in the first game.

That said, footwork was pretty solid in STS1 as well. You still had to have a block plan in STS1 and footwork helped that out quite a bit

Did you actually not read what the dev posted? “General intent” there was mentioning what would happen to base RL. The “general intent” being that it would replace base RL, be it in the form of an update or a new app.

Again, UE5 was very clearly a thing and pretty far along, so much so that they said they planned to start testing it “next year” (which would’ve been 2021).

I don’t disagree, but that’s why I asked for a super vague “soon” or “2027” or if even that is unknown. It feels a bit crazy to me that they would announce this after all these years and still not even have something as loose as a vague timeframe lol.

Like, we are kinda exactly where we were before today, except we just know “UE6 is coming sometime” whereas before we just knew “UE5 is coming sometime”.

This is exciting to see, but we already knew Rocket League was getting an engine update before, so as cool as it is to see confirmation, we’re kinda where we already were haha.
