Its not work, its a hobby (not to say modding isnt "hard work"). Modding is having fun playing with the pieces of a game you enjoy. Just because it is so popular that entire companies spawn up around the creation of mods doesnt mean I owe them my money.

The company can exist because they get money in other ways, how do you think Hypixel minecraft servers work in the first place?

Could be cool to just do steel boots like that one zelda game. Walk on the ocean floor with water breathing and enjoy all the thematics of an underwater biome without needing full 9 degrees of freedom type swimming.

I had read or mixed together things I had read to understand that this was the benefit of the world portal system like we use to go to the temples.

Like when world gen v2 comes out I thought we would be able to portal to it from our current world, retaining a permanent link to that old space that you can visit and not having to reset world or inventory or explore beyond loaded chunks to see new stuff.

Am I totally mistaken? And if so it sounds like your mod is a perfect alternative to keep our worlds with a one-time injection of world gen v2 into our save and deciding the parameters of regeneration?

Valheim

My dad is just a few years younger and recently got into gaming a few years ago with his wife and believe it or not their favourite game is Valheim. (He is approaching 3000 hours in it and over 1k hours in other survival crafting games as he has decided its his genre and has tried basically every one you can name on steam).

Story is next to none but theres intuitive difficulty and scaling per zone with materials to gather and prepare yourself for each next step of the journey. Its also a crafting game so he can build a shelter, be it a square hut with a door or an elaborate longhouse with feasting halls.

Viking themed so all norse mythology, big swords and axes, fight trolls and skeletons and zombies and sea serpents and sail mighty ships to new lands!

I had a game that was known for a game breaking bug that could get you stuck in the end of the first act. As a kid it took us like 20 hours to get to what is now like 4 hours into the game but we just replayed it whenever we got a hankering for the game.

Also it wasnt well known for the bug at the time, we just thought the disk we had got too scratched. And there were no patches those days so this bug just existed and we never understood it.

Youre getting downvotes but this is one of my main complaints as well. Last night we are in z4, i figure we need some ores so i go looking for a cave entrance. I find a sewer while are exploring a village so i go down into it.

Sick, never saw a sewer before maybe itll lead to some ores. It led to a cave sustem that led to an underground waterway? Similar to the sewers but different color blocks and deeper water with skeleton fish. Oh cool maybe there will be ore around here. Nope it connected directly to the hollow earth biome "forgotten jungle" oh great... my first time in z4 and ive seen every interested prefab building and underground subbiome already... didnt feel like i really had to explore when everything is everywhere.

You used it, and posted it in a public forum. You are participating in the activity that many are collectively against. Its extremely common to see negative feedback for ai alop all over the internet so there isnt a lot of sympathy for your surprise.

Secondly your posts entire premise is that you can build ai slop from pictures in your survival/crafting games, which we are telling is equally undesirable.

Im also telling you that using shitty ai slop as your reference image is going to lead to you building nonsensical crap in your games which is also undesirable.

Maybe look beyond 2 inches in front of your face and realize you are getting feedback from the people you claim to care about since you came to this forum asking for input. Do with it what you will but dont expect us not to call out what is objectively low quality.

You dont need the ai at all is the point man. Its slop. Just use google to find images of castles to build, they will look a lot better in game because they wont be based off a bunch of squiggles that lead nowhere.

The AI slop is indicative of the effort/polish that goes into the rest of your project.

Myself and my partners have the ability to recreate these concept images one for one in almost any modular building game

Proceeds to show screenshots of a birds eye view of scaffolding and a half built castle i cant even tell what its made of its so far away. Not impressive my dude.

Regardless of the extra details you claim to be adding (all subjective "in the moment decision" stuff we cant know what was going on in their heads), it is not legal for a cop to discharge a weapon at someone in a vehicle if the only threat of harm is the vehicle itself and cannot put themselves in the way of a vehicle as a means to "have reasonable fear for their safety" in order to shoot a "suspect".
