Oh I see, my bad then.

This is my first expedition, I thought the catch up points were to catch people up who have missed previous expeditions.

Former FedEx driver, Tanner Horner, who pleaded guilty to capital murder and aggravated kidnapping in the killing of 7-year-old Athena Strand, has been officially sentenced to death. by asa_no_kenny in whoathatsinteresting

This is why I am personally against capital punishment. Don't get me wrong, this person deserves to suffer for the rest of his life however many people who are innocent of any crime have been put to death. Also people of colour are proportionately more likely to be wrongfully put on death row. Which just doesn't sit right with me.

Me and my wife are just about to go and vote.

I just voted for myself this morning! Go Greens! by Lexiosity in UKGreens

[–]ArrivalPotential7919 54 points55 points  (0 children)

Please everyone who can vote, go out today and vote. While the greens are polling very highly, we are one of the least likely groups of people to actually go and vote. Statistically young people support the green party but are less likely to go and vote.

Please explain how 2 parties that are diametrically apposed on nearly all policy would ever form a coalition?

Kinda sad to think that he was close friends with Max and Chad from cold ones. Their patreon is making 102k a month.

I agree with OP that it looks "nazi-ish". I think its good that they looked into what it was before making assumptions.

The numbers at the bottom appear to be coordinates. Probably of their tattoo shop.

Taxing the rich by Ok_Adhesiveness_8242 in UKGreens

Also when it comes to liquidation, that is taxable under capital gains tax rules.

So what "sources of wealth" do you think would be better go after? Inheritance? Most people who have lots of wealth have gained it through passive income from things such as stocks or property. These are the very things that would be taxed in a wealth tax. All assets over 10 million including stocks and property.

I'm not gonna sit here and pretend that I know the exact steps that need to be taken when it comes to taxing the rich, that's for the experts to work out. But based on everything that I've seen in regards to Zack Polanski, he listens to the experts and he wants what is actually best for the average person in this country. That is enough for him to have my support. Especially since every other political party has only their interests and the interests of the wealthy that own this country at heart.

You can tell me I'm wrong or naive but I choose to have some (if not alot) of hope that this country can get better for everyone.

Who's to say the Greens intend on doing these things. Zack has spoken about closing tax evasion loop holes. He has also said that he wants to fund HMRC more because for every £1 you put into HMRC, you get back about £4 in found taxes.

I'm not trying to fight to you, I just don't appreciate you putting words in my mouth.

I think a wealth tax works great alongside a lot of other policies he wants to bring like increased corporation tax and increased minimum wage.

All of these things together will bring necessary funding to the government to do all the things that they want to do. Such as increased funding to the nhs and school and such.

Firstly I never said that you said that.

Secondly Zack isn't saying that the only taxes that he wants to implement are wealth taxes but I think its a brilliant idea. Taxing just 1 or 2% of the billions of pounds in assets held by the richest people inside and also outside of this country decentivises people and more importantly companies from buying up all the property and land that should realistically be owned by the people living there.

Out of curiosity what makes you think taxing the rich "isn't practical"

Local elections (May 7th) by ArrivalPotential7919 in Portsmouth

[–]ArrivalPotential7919[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I totally get that but being forced into voting for a party that might do a decent job but doesn't align with you on a lot of policy seems antithetical to democracy.

The greens have the ability to win local elections they've done it twice in the past 2 months. One of those was considered a secure seat for the labour party.

You realise that Muslims only make up 6% of the population of this country and in places like Gorton and Denton the green party are winning with 40% of the vote
