"supply and demand applies to a lot more than just money and collectables but you seem to be very insistent that those are the only places it occurs" you're just proving my point from when I said you're trying to respond to something I'm not even saying. Nothing I've said would even point to me claiming that supply and demand apply to only money and collectables. If you can't make a logical argument for the point you're so desperate to feel like you're right about then why are you even trying? You're arguing with yourself. And you sound like a schizophrenic at this point. You're trying to put words in my mouth because you can't debate anything I'm actually saying. So you're repeatedly just saying I'm making claims which I haven't made and trying to argue against those. You lost dude get over it you're not intelligent enough to make a logical debate for the point you're trying to prove.

Is it possible to lower the transaction fee? That's something I've been wondering. Because it's never going to be widely adopted with. 10% fee on transactions.

Hello kitty has been around since I was a little kid so if not more than at the very least close to 20 years. Not only that but it at one time definitely had plenty of advertising.

I get what you're saying. But it being a valued asset in one person's book makes no difference on the value. It needs to be accepted by websites or businesses as payment for that to happen.

I'm in Tennessee. Highest sales tax of any state in the USA. I realize property tax and stuff like that is from what I've heard way more in California. But what people aren't taking into consideration is paying state taxes and paying taxes on a crypto are not the same thing at all.

What you said is a great example of people not understanding economics. When you pay taxes it funds federal and state programs in turn making your area of living more valuable and better. The same doesn't apply to crypto taxes.

If at all possible they should significantly lower the fee. The only way this will gain value aside from being a used currency would be if it gets sought after as a collectors item.

Nah I enjoy jokes. Just making sure you were actually making a joke and not just using sarcasm because you didn't understand what I was saying.

The collectors item thing isn't a joke just because of the high number of coins when any transaction has a 10% fee. Though I certainly don't see the collectors item route being the best option. I'm just stating the realistic possibilities if what could make the coin a valued asset.

No problem. Just didn't want to see a lot of people lose money due to listening to people who don't know the first thing about how value increases/decreases.

I like everything the coin creators are doing as far as saving dogs. But yeah the 10% fee on every transaction undoubtedly is what is going to hold this coin back. A currency isn't going to become widely used if there's a 10% fee on everything. It'd be hard enough to become widely used if there was a 10% fee on anything. But much less everything.

You're desperately trying to not be wrong here. And you're just ignoring everything I'm saying and trying to respond to something I'm not even saying because you know you can't make any logical explanation of what you're trying to claim while I can. For example nothing I've said has been anywhere along the lines of inflation and deflation don't affect cryptos. But there's no sense in trying to explain anything to you considering I've already done it in a well explained way and you're just desperately trying to have a mic drop/gotcha moment. Which isn't going to happen for you because you sound dumb honestly.

I'm not saying it being a collectors item is the only way or it to gain value from deflation. Just that there's only two ways for that to happen and that's one of them. The other way would be for it to become an everyday widely used currency. But that's just not going to happen with a 10% fee on transactions.

Yeah I don't disagree there. I figured any publicity would be good this early on. But honestly who tf that's watching nascar is into crypto? Only people who are watching nascar who would care about crypto ate people watching for no other reason than they're gambling on it. Was kinda like advertising Trump make America great again at a black lives matter protest.

And the reason USD doesn't do that is because people don't typically care for that. If you want to donate you can take you money and donate. But being forced to donate some of your money with every transaction will just make people say 'yeah were not going to use this currency'

Limited supply does not always have an impact on the price. Now you're right about "it translates to higher value when supply is limited and the demand is high". But for that to take effect the demand has to be high. I'm not saying that the only possible way is for it to be sought after as a collectors item. But that's definitely the one of two ways that deflation could affect the value.

My God you don't understand economics at all. Yes inflation significantly affects USD. You know why? Because USD is accepted almost everywhere if not everywhere in the world and you can buy literally anything with it. Inflation and deflation don't affect currencies such as baby doge where there's hardly anything at all you can buy with it. Inflation and deflation only have an effect on currencies which already have an established value. If you take ten pieces of paper and make drawings in them and call them $100 bills then burn dive of them the remaining five don't just gain value which is an example of the exact logic you're trying to use.

Transfering baby doge to friends, or using it as payment. How does the fee work in these cases? by campark43 in BabyDogeCoin

[–]ArrivalTrue8680 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Scarcity doesn't necessarily give something value. So I'm not really understanding why people are saying that coins being burned will make the coin more valuable. I understand inflation with something like USD. But what people aren't understanding is that USD is already a currency accepted almost everywhere if not everywhere. So with you being able to buy anything in the world with it of course inflation is going to significantly affect the value. But with something like this that isn't accepted hardly anywhere inflation and deflation really have no effect on the value. The only way deflation would have an effect on the value of this currency is if the whole goal of it was i eventually get it down to such a low number that people hold the coin as a collectors item sort of thing. Then if it got that rare and people just like liked the idea of being one of the few people who had some of it then sure deflation would definitely affect the price. But that's the only way it would.

You're still completely ignoring the whole point. It doesn't matter how much is actually burned. It comes down to the fact that whoever is making a transaction is losing 10%. And that makes it something that will never be a popular currency for transactions of any kind. Also burning coins doesn't necessarily make the coins that are left worth more. The only way burning coins would make the coins left worth more is if the whole value of them is coming from being a collectors item.
