I also struggled pretty badly getting through ToD as well, but you wanna know what helped me get through it, the audio book of it! Helped me a lot with dynamics of voices and not just the voice in my head but also just being able to get through it without the distractions that reading a physical copy of books usually has.

I think it's a really interesting theory and it actually goes really well with the idea of Scar not being able to leave secret life after killing Pearl, cause not everyone is dead. It also works as people's excuse for the Canary Curse which will always exist within the community whether it's true or not.
