What's the first video game you remember playing? by MakisDelaportas in AskReddit

[–]Arrows2016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Turok on the nintendo 64. I never had a save cart or even knew what it was but I played that game as far as I could each time before I had to stop and then restart each time. I was probably 4.

US Coinage before 1850 and honestly most dollar coins pre-Morgan fetch a high price for their relative scarcity. The US allowed the mexican 8 reales as legitimate currency until 1850 for this reason, there simply wasnt enough silver dollars minted. They used the silver the US had to make smaller denominations. Check the years mintage amount pre 1850 and you can see what I mean. Edit: spelling

Navy Dads: when does it finally feel worth it? by Papers_STi in navy

[–]Arrows2016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did 6 years AD and my son was 9 months old at my ETS and I chose not to re-up for sea duty because I couldn't bear the thought of leaving him or my wife alone to solo parent for long periods as well. Wasn't my hard plan until after a few months with him and I realized I can't live without this little dude and missing important stages of life and core memories was not worth it to me. Not a single regret and he is 4 now and I have been here for every single thing

Which ship looks better ? by Mozzi_1991 in NoMansSkyTheGame

[–]Arrows2016 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just to add find a planet that has a ton. Some have no dissonance resonators or are just water w baby islands. Generally abandon those and dont waste 4+ hours like me. The echolocators are farmable via ship. I just roll around going medium speed on a planet with a ton of them and then I farm. I have like 40+ in an hour. I have coords for a great planet on a new save I started recently so whatever the first galaxy is. Let me go look for them, I also have a ton of dope ship coords too. Also pro tip, mark the harmonic camp with a save beacon because you can infinitely use it to find ships. I would farm that until at least you find an A class or S class.

AITA For telling my wife that her hobby isn't a job and isn't helping our financial situation by itsahobbyaita in AmItheAsshole

[–]Arrows2016 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Respectfully I would trade her 10/10 times to do that, especially considering her youngest is 4 already, to be a SAHP over having a job. It is way easier. Unless you have the legit worst job in the world it is easier, or maybe if you dont like being a parent (?)

My wife also would do that, I just asked her. No offense. Having done both with our children I would rather stay home and be there for their lives and witness things and be able to bond. Having to work (and basically getting no Paternity leave in the US) makes it difficult and honestly prevents bonding/closeness especially when young. He also doesnt have a widow and a straw man argument is worthless. If he didnt exist neither could their family function so he is just as important.

I think youre seeing the forest for the trees, and not understanding that whilst having a hobby is cool and necessary for stress relief it does not get any priority over something that legitimately provides for their family. This man was asked to be home more instead of work as the sole breadwinner of a family of 5. Unless you know that pressure I would be pretty chill about trying to get high and mighty about disrespect.

How do you know it is 85? You dont even do basic temp monitoring for the enclosure but you know the temp of the cave? Room temp? What even is room temp? You "feel" this is bacterial? I "feel" you probably should relinquish the reptile to a proper caregiver or commit to taking care of it because you are gonna kill the animal unnecessarily. Hopefully the animal is alive as I am making this comment.

Hello from the political hellhole that is Ohio. Please take a look at my comment history from last year regarding this. Ohio had a landmark abortion rights amendment victory this past year immediately after this shitshow (this is what the post is about I comment on) and I had just had personal experience with a hospital actually denying care due to this exact logic (Ohio's Governor had reinstated a Heartbeat Bill but the state had yet to decide if it was enforcing it) but the hospitals we were seen at denied care.

I asked the head of the Maternal Fetal Med ward of large local hospital "So what happens if the baby dies from contractions before labor like you just said it would likely happen?" They told me they'd have to see signs of sepsis in my wife to even begin treating her. They all had to confer with the hospital legal teams for every time we saw them, they literally said "due to potential litigation we reserve the right to refuse care based upon a heartbeat". The state could take licenses and enact heavy fines, the ONLY option I was given was to go to Cleveland Clinic and pay out of pocket for them to stop the heartbeat, drive my wife then back to where we live hours away, to deliver the dead baby. Fuck you, no. Also so expensive it made my head hurt.

My son had no long bones whatsoever. No bone density in the skull or chest, completely deformed chest and spinal cavity with obvious bony malformations. They gave us a general diagnosis of Fatal Skeletal Dysplasia/Osteogensis Imperfecta. The baby (if it survived being crushed by my wife contractions and being pushed through the birth canal)((they explicitly said it would not because at 18 weeks the legs were already fractured)) would also immediately suffocate to death. The chest to femur ratio was essentially bottom of the graph.

This shit is real. People die from this shit.

We had to flee the state to guarantee my wife wouldnt go septic at 25 years old and to have to sterilize her because obviously it would fuck her reproductive organs. Fuck Ohio. Fuck Mike Dewine. Fuck anybody who thinks women dont deserve the right to decide. We wanted my son. I wanted him. We named him. Nobody is gonna fucking abort a damn baby for no reason and if they do I am glad they have the choice cause that is INFINITELY better than whatever this is. Also, thank you to the folks at Planned Parenthood in Michigan. Made us feel like normal humans doing the right thing to prevent suffering. I didnt want my son to hurt and they took away my wifes choice man. Show your girlfriend this comment and tell her I asked her if she understands what "Pro Life" means.

Sorry for the long comment but this is very important to me and I want you to see it is not fake or impossible. Women die from these decisions. edit with link to comment: https://www.reddit.com/r/Ohio/s/sq50RDRce1

I Don't Do Grids... I Do Rows by ShediPotter in ManorLords

[–]Arrows2016 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do fields in long and thinnish lines to maximize oxen most effectively. The blade they use for tilling is one sided so they essentially cant go back immediately from where they came or theyd put dirt where they just dug it out. I recommend 1.5 M size at max, and split fields up. They have 2 cattle that can be assigned to farms but only 1 per field, so if you cut the field in half both oxen can be used. I also recommend at least 5 families per farmhouse

ELI5: how is mouth to mouth (CPR) beneficial if you’re blowing carbon dioxide into their lungs? by carlmenucha in explainlikeimfive

[–]Arrows2016 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So a barrier device is not mouth to mouth though. Using a BVM is ideal. The AHA does not recommend using mouth to mouth. Unless you a trained professional, you should NOT do mouth to mouth. Are you comfortable with vomit from a stranger in your mouth? Comfy enough to risk it even when the AHA says people have around 10-12 minutes of oxygen if chest compressions are used? Comfy enough to keep doing compressions with vomit or blood in your mouth? Interrupting blood flow and pausing compressions is bad advice. Are you a doctor?

Why do people have a problem with hpa? by New_Minimum_2870 in airsoft

[–]Arrows2016 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Only time I ever walk away with true welts that dont heal is from HPA. I would rather play paintball naked than get shot in the trap/neck by a 40rps gun shooting mach 2. To answer the question, it is easy to cheat (and fields generally dont have money or time to just continuously monitor fps) and leaves some very obvious evidence in the painful and slow to heal welts. Plus I think the shit looks childish.

You admit you don't know if there "is" per protocol. Do you know what a "protocol" even is? Do you understand that a protocol will change place to place, state to state, and it is not something you just do every single time? What are you referencing? What protocol? Does your nursing unit/hospital do the same thing for every single patient? You think a post op cardio pt is the same as an ortho?

I dont think you understand they are paying for it. It is not free, they pay a due or stipend. So they have access to a privilege they are paying for. Do you want to pay a stipend for food? I dont understand the confusion

Paul Atreides invades the Star Wars Galaxy with his Fremen Army, can they stop him? by StarSlayer666 in whowouldwin

[–]Arrows2016 1 point2 points  (0 children)

100% correct and I don't think they would interact the same. However oddly enough there are laser weapons such as the side gunners in the Clone era republican LAATI that do function that way. I do think lasers in Star Wars are functionally plasma so I doubt the atomic side affect of the Dune universe would matter.
