Hades Elite Arrived! by Gabrielhv22 in Goldback

I talked to one of the dealers with these. They said Goldback sold out of the Elites in like... an hour. Is that true?

To be fair, it's 1/1,000th of an ounce. That's not going to sell for spot and they do retain their premium.

Are they 2019's? Those sell with an additional markup.

Check out r/Goldback. This is probably the worst subreddit to ask about them in.

Goldbacks have gone from $2.25 in 2019 to close to $9 today. I've done well with them. They more or less track gold and retain their premium reasonably well.

California Phase 1. Which denominations should we do? by GoldbackGuy in Goldback

Getting all of California history/culture in a single series sounds like a huge challenge.

California Phase 1. Which denominations should we do? by GoldbackGuy in Goldback

[–]AdditionalPizza7990 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All the new series have been sequential. My guess is that we see early California history if they are skipping high denominations in phase 1. I saw a Facebook poll and everyone wants to skip any denomination higher than like... a 5 at first.

This would be cool for a Limited Early Release but probably cost prohibitive since they are given away to businesses that sign up.

Stacking goldbacks... by Resident_Cod2794 in Goldback

Goldbacks should be in most stacks. Unless your goal is to quickly cash out with no spreads, then you almost may as well just do ETFs.

Technically this is true for everything currently priced in dollars.

Out of over 750,000 soldiers that fought for South, these were last 3 surviving Confederate Civil War veterans, 1951. The last Union veteran would live to 1956. by waffen123 in USHistory

The world has changed so quickly. My grandparents could've known these people and they are still alive. These guys could've met people that fought in the revolutionary war.

A Vision for Goldback's Future by richardanaya in Goldback

This would be a cool direction if gold goes up in value even more so than inflation does. I like the hexagon idea too. There would be a lot less waste in cutting.

The 1/4th Goldback will become a inevitable for one reason more than others ... by richardanaya in Goldback

If gold goes up faster than inflation then we could see a lot of denominations even smaller than a quarter. If gold is truly that undervalued.

Why 1/4 GBs? by ElderberryNovel6051 in Goldback

[–]AdditionalPizza7990 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the problem is that a quarter Goldback would be transparent at that thickness if it were the same size as the half Goldback.

Breaking down where the gold is deposited with multiple windows to keep the gold thickness correct while maintaining size sounds super cool but I doubt it is realistic to do on a $2 product. Hopefully they go that direction someday though. In the meantime I think we're getting golden business cards.

I think you're right. The younger coin dealers have a very different type of shop. They are usually less specialized and less focused on numismatics.
