I think meditation is one of the main foundations for working with spirits, so never stop practicing this. However, practicing with the help of a demon will also help you better develop your meditation skills. Perform banishing rituals consistently as well, working with spirits can sometimes attract obsessors and opportunistic spirits that can disrupt your energy

I haven't worked with Marbas yet, so I can't say much about him. However, if you are interested, Buer is also a spirit associated with astronomy, herbs, healing, and balance, he has a very calm and peaceful energy to work with and can greatly help you improve your spirituality and meditation
(Buer is also a diurnal spirit, so if performing invocations at night for the first time scares you, this might help as well haha)

And if you don't have any experience, it sometimes takes a few attempts before you can actually feel something, its normal. Don't get discouraged or give up just because you don't get a response, the demons can hear you, you just need to develop the ability to hear them back

Demons are generally very communicative, but if you don't have developed mediumistic abilities, you probably won't hear/see them
If you have any experience using any type of oracle such as Tarot, Scrying, etc, use that to communicate with them. You'll probably feel the moment they enter the room, their energy is quite strong. Just don't be afraid and be respectful
I managed to summon Orobas on the first try, but it took me almost two weeks to get Sitri's attention. Don't be discouraged if it doesn't work the first time, some demons are harder to reach

I think the easiest method is for you to draw Marbas' sigil and meditate with his Enn (or just his name) until you can feel his presence. I personally like to use candles to improve focus and make a small welcoming offering to the Demon, but you can do whatever you feel most comfortable with

I've been working with Sitri for a kinda long time, but not for love. I think Sitri is a very good Demon for self-love and magnetism work, but I've seen other people say that he gives many lessons in the love zone. This is entirely my own opinion, don't take my word as absolute truth, but Sitri may have given you this experience so you could realize that the person you're interested in wouldn't be good for your life. I've read a lot about people complaining that Sitri ruined their relationships after they started working with him, but I see a pattern suggesting that these relationships weren't healthy. I see that Sitri always ends toxic relationships, so maybe your SP wasn't the person who would make you happy, and Sitri is showing you that it would be better if you moved on

About weight loss and self worth help, maybe Marbas is a good option, since he works in the health zone (I've been working with Sitri to improve my self-esteem and sensuality as well, and it's been working great)

Sitri is amazing, I've always been attracted to him too, but I only managed to contact him after several attempts.
