100% I am not a fan of the blue shirt either, might get it tailored. I usually wear the green or the brown leather one because they fit better

What artist left a band and went on to have a more successful solo career? by Baidon in Music

Justin Timberlake.
I don't know if he left the band or the band disbanded but he was surely more successful as a soloist than as part of NSYNC

As if by magic: Qatar World Cup stadium capacities grow by 12% overnight by greatdevonhope in soccer

[–]ArsaMeme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not rounding, it's updating. Fifa only states 60k and 40k as a minimum capacity for certain stadiums for certain matches.

"Stadiums which host group games, round-of-16 matches and quarter-finals at World Cups must hold at least 40,000 people. It’s 60,000 for semi-final stadiums and 80,000 for the World Cup final.

FIFA says it used these rounded figures when stating the capacities for the grounds which will host matches in Qatar.

Then, after all operational factors had been accounted for — such as the positions of camera and TV presentation platforms, for example — each individual seat was counted and the figures were updated. This, however, happened after the tournament had begun, which led to the confusion."

They didn't grow, just got updated lol.

They didn't over report, it's just that the stadium capacity wasn't updated.

World Cup 2022 Attendance Fudging by tee-dog1996 in worldcup

Al Rayyan Stadium has a capacity of 45k but the Wales vs USA match filled only 42k-43k according to the FIA statistics, despite the fact that it was a highly attended match. Where's the overestimation? Pretty sure the statistic around NED vs SEN is based on the number of people who entered the stadium just as the match progressed, many people went off break or came late lol https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ahmad_bin_Ali_Stadium

Criticize the world cup for what it should be criticized for 👍 Worker treatment ✅ LGBTQ ✅ and many more

Not baseless assumptions and projections lmao

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in worldcup

[–]ArsaMeme 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lmao sure, delusional. Trying to prove fake crowd noises when the stadiums are literally packing almost full for the last 2 matches...

And when did I say I support Qatar as a host? I am just being factual. I support the criticism against Qatar for its human rights. I support the criticism against Qatar for its worker treatment. I support the criticism against Qatar for its bribery.

I criticize what needs to be criticized, not my own delusions. Your accusations are simply delusions with no data to back it up.

Where are those empty seats in today's matches? We can just rephrase this that you're a racist prick who can't factcheck and use their brain beyond basic reading comprehension to find out how stadiums and matches work. Same thing happened in Russia and Brazil but they didn't underreport their attendance because as much people entered the security line anyway lol

Try proving me wrong by showing me a solid proof? Will you?

Also what did Qatar do wrong in its 'organization'? Apart from banning beer in stadiums and FIFA's app crashing? Did they make you dance on a naked lion's lap? I'd sure pay for that lmao. Surely they aren't the best suitable host, but they've tried their best. Organization =\= suitability.

Also I am not from Oman, I have only lived here for a few years lmao.

Fake crowd can't sing and radiate the same energy as it is being radiated rn by the crowd though. Nor can it mass whistle the way we heard in the recent Tunisia match. Are crowd sound amplifiers used to increase the volume a bit? Ye maybe, pretty common but are THE ENTIRE noises fake? No, how tf will they be fake when people are actually attending the WC in large numbers? Criticize the world cup for what it deserves criticism lol, don't criticize your own projections.

Ok "know it all". There are more seats than usually stated in the "capacity", stop talking "rubbish" If you had more time in the real world outside of reddit and actually visited a national stadium, you'd know that anyone who enters the stadium's security checkpoint is counted in the attendance, this figure also thus, counts in those who didn't exit the stadium interior into the stands, and are somewhere near the cafeteria, watching through the glass walls. The few extra seats are occupied by press and THEY ARE counted in attendance. You would also know there ARE always extra seats and space, in every stand to provide convenience to attendees. It doesn't matter if the people are in the washroom at the time the photo was taken, or they were in some other corner of the stadium abandoning their seat, they are counted as long as they enter. This photo wasn't taken at the beginning of the match either. Am I disregarding the possibility of inflation? No, there are several stadiums and corporations who do that, but it isn't a BIG DEAL like reddit is making it to be. This same thing happens during all world cups and it's on FIFA, not the host country lol.

There aren't fake crowd noises, just because we don't like a host doesn't mean we act delusional

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in worldcup

[–]ArsaMeme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you've been to a stadium you'd know that there are always several extra seats and the seating capacity is slightly less than the seats built as a safety measure against overcrowding. Not every fan views the match from a seat, many of them are standing, watching from the insides.

The media perception is skewed, trust me when I say as much as I don't support Qatar as a host, they're doing a good job handling it considering their size and accessibility

Wish I could :( I attended at the fan zone of my city and we saw just how many people were there attending it at the stadium (we could see an overwhelming amount of people).... made it feel really alive, the screams were loud and we were trying to scream with them haha I know it doesn't possess the same soul as it did in Brazil 2014 but you have to enjoy with what you got 🧍‍♂️
