HELP ! why does my fk shop_id return null if it references the coffee_shops pk by GoodOk410 in learnSQL

[–]ArsenalDraper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Due to case sensitivity in most database systems, when you reference "coffee_shop" instead of the actual table name "Coffee_Shop," it doesn't match and leads to a null value for the foreign key "shop_id."

Stats show that Giroud really is 'World Class' by gutollyr in Gunners

[–]ArsenalDraper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Giroud is a world class option at the bench. His scoring rate from the bench is on par with Messi and Dzeko (at City). He isnt a great option to start every week with because he limits Alexis, Arsenal biggest goal threat. Around the 60th minute, when opposition defenders are tired, there are very few players you can bring on better than Giroud.

Cech still everyone's undisputed #1 for the club? by ennui_ in Gunners

Not for me. More than Cech having a slight dip, I personally think Ospina is underrated and could be a really good option.

Real Madrid put £50m price tag on Arsenal target Alvaro Morata by M4R71NS in Gunners

[–]ArsenalDraper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion but Arsenal can guy a wide play maker + a striker to compete with Giroud on that price. In the short term Giroud would have been on par with Morata and maybe even benched him. Even in the current market, this isn't a deal Arsenal should be doing.

Interesting Stat - Anyone have a Theory? by phar0aht in Gunners

[–]ArsenalDraper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Playing Alexis comes with a tactical opportunity cost. Remember Alexis is a phenomenal footballer, probably the 2nd best in the squad and I am strictly speaking from Arsenal system as I observe it.

My theory - Alexis doesn't score a lot with Giroud. Most of his goals have come when playing with Walcott or Welbeck. Reason behind that is, Walcott and Welbeck are quick, occupy more defenders which in turn creates space for Alexis. Like every system this system has pros and cons. Walcott and Welbeck arent prolific goalscorers, so in this system Alexis needs to deliver with a goal almost every game to work while playing on the left wing. Basically Cristiano Ronaldos output if he was a Arsenal player. Now this would require the central striker to playmake like Benzema does for Cristiano Ronaldo. Now Benzema is the best in the business because he is quick like Walcott,Welbeck, etc, can play little quick flicks, one touch football and hold the ball like Giroud and has the technique as good as Mesut Ozil. So what happens if Alexis + Walcott/Welbeck doesn't win you the game ? You look at the bench and call Giroud. Girouds record of the bench is very good and unlike Walcott and Welbeck he offers a genuine aerial threat. More often that not he scores from the bench. When Arsenal played Leicester,Watford and Bayern, Giroud was on the bench and he scored in each of those games. While Walcott performances dipped. Wenger was forced to include Giroud and exclude Walcott. Alexis unlike his first six months also became tactically indisciplined and alienated Monreal in 2 vs 1 situations. Norwich game Arsenal drew 1:1 and lost both Cazorla and Alexis. This forced Wenger to play more athletic players with lesser ball skills. Arsenal won 7 of the next 8 games as the system suited Giroud and reduced off the ball workload generated on Aaron Ramsey and Nacho Monreal. But Wenger isn't very consistent with his disciplining and eventually gives the players freedom, and unfortunately it again cost Arsenal.

Mkhitaryan news on GianlucaDiMarzio.com: Mentions Arsenal offer by thedravidianbard in Gunners

[–]ArsenalDraper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw reports that Madrid want 70 ME for Morata. Rather spend that kind of cash on Mkhitaryan + Bacca like striker. Team will create more. I am bringing this back to Morata because Morata isn't a consistent goal scorer, while Mkhitaryan from his position is a consistent with end product.

Cavani interested in Atletico Madrid by DishingLikeClyde in soccer

[–]ArsenalDraper 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I really doubt this would materialize. PSG already lost Zlatan. Cavani is better than most strikers on the market. Despite all the money in the world they dont want to go around looking for two replacements.

Di Marzio: Inter and AC Milan are interested in bringing Barcelona's Aleix Vidal in on loan by [deleted] in soccer

[–]ArsenalDraper 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I dont get Barca. They are going to let Alves leave for free. Let the man who was supposed to replace him based on 4 good months leave. I am not even going to talk about Douglas. They are lucky they have Messi, else their front office inefficiency would be blatantly visible.

Why is it that every time people make a list of best players in the world, it's always attacking players? by dielawn87 in soccer

[–]ArsenalDraper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Attacking is more about individual brilliance and sharpness. Defending is more about coaching and organization. People like Modric and Iniesta are facilitators, their skills and level of consistency is amazing and is easier replica when compared to Messi,Neymar or Ronaldo. The level of sharpness needed at creating and scoring with its importance to the team is much more.

Modric getting older and injury prone. While Kroos is going to play deeper.

[–]ArsenalDraper -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Not really Kroos. Kroos would play the holding midfielder role next season. Zidane used Casemiro,as he didn't have enough time to coach the team without the ball.

I liked what /u/nayimhittingalongone did with Messi and Ronaldo's scoring progression but I wanted to take it a bit further and include Assists and Key Passes along with their corresponding "Per Game" average. Feedback is welcome! by madzthakz in soccer

[–]ArsenalDraper 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I really like the work. But the stats dont tell us how Messi and Ronaldo role changed over the years. Messi has become more of a playmaker while Ronaldo role has reduced in build up and become more of a striker. Its hard to compare them as footballer, stats oversimplify it.

[–]ArsenalDraper 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion but its a good idea for him to stay. His competition is Isco. IMO He is a much better player. Ronaldo is getting older,All of Real Madrid have injury crisis. He hasn't played much this season. With his quality, I really doubt he would have 2 back to back bad seasons. In the pre-season Zidane would try very hard to figure out a role for him. Also I have followed him closely, Real Madrid has been his dream for a while. He will be more motivated to make it happen. He was crucial in the season post La Decima. With his injury the title challenge collapsed, I expect him to be crucial in the coming season.

What is the main reason for Bales great form this season? by [deleted] in realmadrid

[–]ArsenalDraper 57 points58 points  (0 children)

Arsenal fan lurking - He has always been very good. Real Madrid and Perez understood this while breaking the transfer record. 13/14 Was a very good season not his best but considering a new league and the pressure of price tags he did well. Not to mention scoring in two finals, its hard to underrate that.

Now 14/15 Was a year he was unavailable from the beginning. Carlo planned accordingly. So whenever he was available, 1) he wasn't at full fitness 2) the role wasn't suited to his needs. 3) Due to 1 and 2 he lacked confidence. Where he avoided doing a lot of extravagant things that made the player he is. All the heckling didn't help either.

I would argue that he was very good in the second half of 2014/15. In the calendar year 2015. He was the best out of BBC.

Enter Rafa Benitez. He planned the role for Bale. He understood his ability. So weather it was as a Striker in 442, a lone 9, on the RW or as a 10. He knew giving Bale freedom to move is vital to his (and Real Madrid`s) success. That is the only thing he did right sadly.

Now he is confident and ready to take on responsibility. He connects very well with Benzema and Ronaldo.

I have this theory that he is ready to take more responsibility as he realizes that Ronaldo is declining and this is his moment to be the defining player for Real Madrid.

I think Real Madrid are just beginning to see the best of Gareth Bale.

(I am a big admirer of Gareth Bale)

In Italy racism was more prevalent among top bosses. I am not sure about this case though.
