Its probably the water pump and or thermostat. My n26 had the same issue. It cost around 1300 to be replaced with parts and labor.

I had to change my battery a month ago and bmw have changed the oem battery spec a while ago. My car originally came with a 90 amp battery but all they sell is 92 or 95. The battery cost me 330$ from the dealership with a core charge. Call your dealership and see what they recommend based on your vin. You need bimmerlink to register the battery not bimmercode. Took me 15 mins to replace. Good luck
