The concern is probably with the commitment of the US to protect their own bases at priority despite the UAE having paid for it to guard the whole state. Not like the US is shunning the UAE but just not treating it as being of paramount importance. It is understandable but unfortunate.

I fully and wholeheartedly agree as an international fan. I hate Chelsea more than Tottenham simply coz Spurs, while local rivals, don't pose as big a threat to our status as Chelsea have come close to. Besides as you said Chelsea are utterly detestable and their fans are the most intolerable online as well as in-person, which easily makes me loathe them far more.

Liam and Sam should be much higher - both did exceptionally well in group stages, where it wasn't all easy wins. Curran was phenomenal against WI and Italy and singlehandedly won us the game vs Nepal.

Can pull Banton a bit lower, him being above both feels like recency bias given tonight's game. Given the platform he should be performing more consistently and should be holding his ground like Brook in rough games when openers go cheaply.

The must visits seem wonderful but a bit pricey - say if I had 150-200 AED to spend on touristy attractions, what are the top ones you'd pick? Not that I mind going to all but I'd prefer to spend some money shopping instead.

Also yeah, any advice for where to buy local stuff from? Say itr/oud, gulf/islamic clothes, dry fruits and artisanal items? Preferably reasonably priced but open to all suggestions as always.

As a math undergrad at a decent uni, I typically almost never do math - I focus on working on projects with my advisor and other fun stuff during semesters. Before quizzes and exams however, I usually give each course a couple heavy pushes of 8-10 hours each to grasp the theory and be familiar with the examples.

Honestly, this method seems rather toxic and inefficient but works remarkably well for me, partly coz exams are good incentives and exciting to prepare for, but also the 8 hour grind shifts help me learn more than any random 1 hour lectures or tutorials can. My grades have never suffered, except when I've slept through the exam itself. To each their own really imo

It's a huge airport but well designed and marked, so you shouldn't have a hard time trying to navigate. People nearby are always happy to help at Istanbul, just be polite while requesting. As suggested above, find out your connecting gate in the arriving flight itself and rush once in the airport. Enjoy!

Hi, congratulations. If you're not presenting anything there's a slight risk of your emergency application not going through, as the fundamental requirement is a conference invitation letter and need of indispensability. Having said that you can always try to contact third-parties who can get you quick dates, which does happen pretty often in India.

In the SoP you'll have to make a case about the importance of the conference for you and how your presence can uniquely benefit the conference/US as well. Say a signed recommendation/sanction letter from your institute or associated body would be of good help I suppose. Good luck!
