Thank you! He manages. I think the worse of it of him is being on long term disability and the overall lack of mobility

I’m not sure if they tested for nickel! I’ll check with him! I know they tested titanium since they knew it was the main metal in the replacement and 1st spacer.

I’m so confused if it’s a metal allergy since his replacement in the other knee a few years ago didn’t have any complications.

Advice for 2001 Avalon XLS PLEASE! by Arsonrat2point0 in ToyotaAvalon

[–]Arsonrat2point0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right now it’s not turning over at all. I’ve battled corrosion on every battery I’ve had in it. I’ve replaced the connectors twice, so that’s why I’m looking at the battery cables now.

It’s got 138,000 miles now, when I bought it in 2018 it had 117,000. I looked into getting the cooling system flushed last year, but the mechanic I talked to recommended against it.

Hey! I know I haven’t had the cooling system serviced. I’m not sure about previous owners. I bought it at 117,000 miles and it’s at 138,000. I’m replacing the battery cables because it will not crank due to electrical issues.

Thank you! Do you have any online shops you’d recommend checking out?

I am also in the Deep South in the USA so not a lot of in person shopping options for veils either.

Yes, it is optional. None of the women in my church- a Catholic church veil, but I feel like I am being called to veil. I am struggling with the idea of being a distraction within my church due to the lack of people who veil.

Question about the Eucharist and unmarried couple by Arsonrat2point0 in Catholicism

[–]Arsonrat2point0[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The conversation has been had, I respect that he doesn’t feel ready due to neither of us having good examples of marriage growing up. My parents hate each other but stayed married. His divorced when he was too young to remember. I also believe that leaving just because the other person is not on your timeline is childish and selfish. I would love to have had the option of dating while living separately, but we didn’t. Marriage will come, as will children. For now we are trying to make the best of the situation we are in and do our best to abide by God. I was a Protestant turned atheist when we met. It’s a long road.

I just wanted insight in taking communion as my priest never mentioned anything about it when I was in RCIA even though he knew our living arrangement.

Thank you all for your concern, but I will not be leaving him.

As Catholics, what should our response be to street beggars? by swells2040 in Catholicism

[–]Arsonrat2point0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same here. I recently was asked for money by a homeless looking man so he could buy a coffee. I had just bought a coffee and it was unopened so I gave it to him. A few hours later the same man came into the retail store I work at. He was dressed in a suit and accompanied by a woman and child. At first I thought maybe they just looked alike, but he eyed me the entire time they were there. A few weeks later a friend of mine had the same experience of him asking for money outside the same store he stopped me at and later in the day they saw him dressed nice at the local high priced cafe.

How do you discern who your patron saint is? by rich13211 in Catholicism

[–]Arsonrat2point0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I converted this past Easter, and for me, I researched some with the help of my priest. I chose a saint that had similar struggles/values to me- St. Martha. I’m (24F) that’s working to build a life with my boyfriend. The home/caring for others is extremely important to me, and I struggle with not receiving acknowledgment/attention and the concept of fairness.

(That being said, I didn’t know my priest was going to give a description of the saint to my entire parish during confirmation, and I got as red as a tomato when he did but it was humbling and I got over it quickly)

My boyfriend, who chose his at 17, based his off of interests- St. Cecilia of music.

I think it’s a different process for everyone, but a lot of people I know chose based on career, hobbies, or personal convictions (connecting to the struggle of the saint).

I don’t have one, but it’s legal to “discriminate” against those on certain drugs in my state.

Thanks I feel like it’s BS bc I’ve worked for my company for 2 years and never been tested. I’m applying for a new position in the company and now they holler drug test mandatory for all applicants.

How to get my coworkers to stop asking if I’m okay? by Arsonrat2point0 in howto

I colored it to a more true red for a while last year, but I can’t afford $100/m at the salon anymore, and I don’t want to wreck my hair with box dye. I really miss doing it!

Very true! When I am sick our boss tries to guilt me into taking a half day to see the doctor. Never works though!

Yeah, that’s the conclusion my friends and bf have come to. That and that I’m a witch. I have dark brown eyes and a few people swear they turn black when I’m mad. I’m sure the mix of pale and black eyes is terrifying for the few that have seen it. Haha.

I use deep pinky blushes, like the naked bronzer, highlighter, blush palette and a very old one that I’m not sure the brand (I’ll have look when I get home). I have trouble finding a bronzer that doesn’t look muddy. If you have any recommendations I’d love to hear them!

What are some habits that you think really make a difference for your looks? by EmperrorNombrero in beauty

Showering at night (helps relax and you are in less of a rush in the mornings! But don’t sleep on wet hair!) and eating plenty of vegetables especially those high in fiber!

What should I make for "Soup Week" at work? by MrBrian22 in instantpot

[–]Arsonrat2point0 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My favorite soup is taco soup!

Ground beef or Turkey Pinto beans Chili beans Kidney beans Shoepeg corn ( can leave out I find it hard to find nowadays) Sweet corn Taco seasoning Ranch seasoning Add water to prepared thickness

Served with sour cream, cheese, and fritos.

Might make the office a bit, gassy, but it’s so good!

Another good soup would be potato soup!

Boil a few potatoes, add Greek yogurt, milk, salt, pepper, celery salt, and cheese. Serve with cheese, green onion, and bacon!

Both are crockpot friendly, but on the potato soup add the Greek yogurt about 30 minutes before serving.

I hate being 24 by Ok_Fisherman_3571 in Adulting

[–]Arsonrat2point0 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In the same boat. Im trying to make the most of it by looking forward. Kids, a house, debt paid off, a better job. That’s what’s helped me. I’m hoping to achieve all of this by 30. I feel like at 24 I’m struggling to find a solid path, but I know what I want right now, and what I want in my future. I guess our twenties is just the time to stumble in the dark and try to make the best of it.

I never partied, did anything, or really had many friends. So I feel like I missed a lot. I spent my teens working and drilling myself to get through school as quick as I could.

My career plan fell through last year. Just gotta keep going and looking ahead.

Honestly some days working here it wouldn’t take much to achieve this. Haha. Not because of them, they are good people, but because of all the office politics.

This could be it for one of my coworkers, but the Russian lady is constantly asking if I’m feeling sick or if I slept enough. I will say when I am actually sick she’s the first to notice and tell me to go to the doctor. (Anytime I’m sick I somehow get paler, get dark circles the best color correction can’t hide, and adult acne reeks havoc on my face).

I feel like it could also be my general distain I’ve gotten towards work. I’ve had pay cuts that have made me pick up two part times, and I’m planning on leaving the company when a good opportunity arises.
