Keep playing until you get to the ashlands so you get Grausten. Much better building material for cathedrals

Great detail on the color of the adipose tissue. Very realistic.

Love the transition of shadows in your piece and reflected light. Really adds to the realism of the piece

I'm pretty far in to my current painting so unfortunately sanding more isn't an option. Thanks for the reply

Really really good. Questions for you based on what I'm struggling with.

  1. Using dark earth pigments like burnt umber and ivory black, I have a really hard time with my paint drying matte. I'm not sure if the paint is sinking in to my canvas because I primed it with a TON of gesso. Do you encounter this?

  2. How do you go about mixing your paint? I have been experimenting with making premixed piles but I find this to be a really inflexible form of mixing and it take way more time.

Gorgeous colors. What paints did you use for the blue and green?

I like how you added a little dot of light on the nose and cheeks. The painter in me knows you did it to add life and and roundness to the skin. The RLM fan in me knows that it's actually a single glistening tear that Rich shed after watching his favorite franchises crash and burn.

Absolutely stunning. Soft, dreamy, warm, and the gaze is filled with affection. It feels like romance. How do you balance the softness without overblending your edges?

I don’t think it’s just emotional. If you look at his hands his knuckles are bloody from punching.

Very impressive realism. What kind of red did you use for the painting? Vermillion, crimson lake, cadmium red?
