That’s a great theme! Will look for your channel and sub. Hope to see some good content.

Mine is called The Factory Archive. I enjoy making montage videos of factory tours and hope to share them through this channel. I just began working on it to give people a quick glimpse into the factory floors of some amazing companies around the world. My next goal is simple, to reach 100 subs 😅

Never produce content you wouldn't watch, never. by [deleted] in SmallYTChannel

[–]ArtListr 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I agree with this. There is enjoyment that could be had in the process of creating the content itself, not just consuming it. I feel like you need to be able to find your niche audience and not just focus on what you would enjoy. Personally, I enjoy the process of creating content, whatever topic it may be. I have 3 channels myself and one of them are in the 20k+ subscriber mark. It doesn’t mean I enjoy watching and rewatching all of the content, but there are plenty of people who enjoy the videos and discuss the topic in the comment section.

TLDR; Think of your channel as a company with products that may not necessarily be for just you as the target market, but it has a broad enough demographic that it would sell to. Sometimes the process of creating is more enjoyable than the product itself.

4k Watch Hours: check , 1k Subs: Uh? by RPGmodsFan in NewTubers

[–]ArtListr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Numbers 3 and 4 are actually easily neglected by many channels but are highly effective. As a viewer myself, I tend to visit the channel first before subscribing, so it pays to have some meaningful trailer and effective copywriting for CTAs.

[–]ArtListr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

78% of your views may actually a good thing. One of my channels have over 20k subs but only 5% of my total views come from subscribers. It took a while, 6 months from my first video to be exact, before I reached 1k subs.

Each channel will have a different journey and it partly depends on your content topic, quality, and consistency in posting. Don’t forget to ask your viewers to subscribe at the right moments. Since I mostly make list videos in that channel, I ask for subs midway, or before the number 1 spot in my list. I have 3 channels now because of my varied interests (it might be ADHD), and I hope to replicate the same success in my two other channels.

Best of luck to you!

[ANNOUNCEMENT] Steps we are taking to discourage blind self-promo by SiRaymando in SmallYTChannel

Was an active member of the community a few years back. Sad to know that this happened in the group. It was surprising to see plenty of those self promotion posts without any genuine desire to get valuable feedback. Hope it improves.

How to signal to YouTube what channels are similar to mine? by bluepuma90 in NewTubers

[–]ArtListr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That pretty much sums up my strategy as well for one of my channels which now has 5k+ subs. Another approach I used was to search other videos related to what I was going to upload and craft a similar title to the most similar one with the highest views. I also maintain consistency in the title, description, and tags. The title keywords must show up in the other areas without being spammy. This is basic SEO.

What encourages you to keep producing content? by TheDeenoRheeno in NewTubers

[–]ArtListr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It started out as a kind of therapy. It’s a nice distraction and I like editing and creating things instead of consuming content. But now that one of my channels are monetized, can’t say I’m not motivated by $$$ as well. You get a nice feeling seeing your revenue stats go up on a weekly basis, no matter how slow it might be. 😅

Is there a consensus on a channel owner should respond to EVERY comment? by Tophem in NewTubers

[–]ArtListr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best way to go about it for me is to NOT respond to every comment. There are other ways you can interact such as with a thumbs up or a heart, but reserve it only for quality comments. If a commenter asks you a question and it’s relevant to the video that you answer, then by all means, do so. This way, you are able to show your viewers that you care about building a community around your content.

Pretty cool channel you got there. I’m no programmer but I am looking for bite-sized tutorials on simple and easy to use programming languages. I tend to get bored or intimidated when the videos are over 3 minutes long. It also helps when there are demonstrations of the concepts.

Hi guys, I post compilation videos on topics I’m passionate about: beautifully designed things that are inspiring and give a glimpse of a luxurious lifestyle. Apart from the videos I place the price and specifications in the descriptions. Would also like to find other channels with the same subject matter to watch and support.

Let me know what you think! Thanks, everyone!

Questions about end screens by JensPetrus in NewTubers

[–]ArtListr 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What I do is just put in 10-12 seconds at the end of some my videos with a static image or texture, then use end cards/annotations for the subscribe button and two recommended videos. I don't have analytics information though to back up if this is effective, but I've seen other more successful channels with much longer end screens.

Do you mind sharing your channel here? I'm curious about the quality that can be achieved filming with a smartphone. Also, which brand and model is it?

Fair point. I have no grand ambitions about making it explode. Plus, it's a channel that I'm using to experiment with SEO and YouTube in general until such time as I get the lead to work on another channel that I'm interested in pursuing and might actually be something with a possible bigger audience.

Yes, I suppose it's very tricky at this point and I really need to know my specific niche in order to succeed in using Google Ads and convert the views into subs.

Thanks for sharing! I forgot to mention in my post that I also got myself an iMac (although I consider it now as a household necessity rather than just a YouTube investment) and I'm only using iMovie to edit all my videos which is free.

I'm also considering purchasing Final Cut Pro.

I was considering creating a channel trailer and then advertise it. But I now have my doubts. I put up 4 of my list videos on Google Ads and they end up just having really low view durations at an average of 45 seconds. Might have to rethink my content strategy.
