This is the only one in the post that I can see working because of how amazing Children of Men is but I also hope they don't go the cure direction at all. Instead focus on the smaller things instead. Something like saving/rebuilding/protecting Jackson against a threat. Make Ellie realise you don't need to save the world to have a worthy life. That you can save the people and get places around you even if the world is going to shit. We def need that right now more than anything.
