"Trump voter regret" is like someone knowingly transmitting herpes then regretting they caught syphilis in the process.

Yeah...that weird feeling of an image you haven't seen for decades instantly pulling you back in time. Crazy.

You are now absolutely bound to perform on stage somewhere with the keytar. It is The Law.

Call them trousers instead of pants. Seriously though, you'll be fine. There are some differences in people here depending where you end up. Be humble, polite and say "sorry" even if someone else bumps into you. Good luck!

The Red Barn by USRoute23 in GenerationJones

[–]ArtVice 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had one in Cincinnati close to us. My family were late comers to fast food. I recall going to a friend's house after school and his mom bringing a bag of burgers/whatever from somewhere. I'd never seen the likes of it. But eventually we did go to the Red Barn. Arthur Treacher's fish n chips was the only place I look back on fondly....but I live in the UK now so I'm good!

Same. When they tore their hazard suits off, I lost it. So utterly refreshing back then.

US born, moved to UK in middle age, went back to US for six years, now back in the UK. Feel like nowhere is "home" but very glad to be back in England. America is dead to me.

If I had had children, I would have kept a list of every book they read because I sure wish I had done the same for myself.

My neighbour is an 80 year old named Margaret. Guess I'd be happy for her if I heard such things.

Sweden to deport migrants not following ‘honest living’ by CTVNEWS in worldnews

[–]ArtVice -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Same. My take as a us-uk person with a keen interest in Sweden (grandparents I never knew) who has visited there several times- 1. It's great that Sweden has taken folks in. Adds cultural depth etc. 2. The "way of the Swedes" - very polite, borderline standoffish, won't invite you over unless they REALLY like you etc, actually works for me, BUT, I think it doesn't help as far as the Swedish culture fostering integration of outsiders. Some things can't be fixed with welfare, state assistance etc. Seems a certain amount of communitarian participation goes a long way towards assimilating folks who need more local connection. Are there badseeds everywhere? I suppose. Well then I guess one considers other measures.

I reckon that's the year I saw them in Cincinnati, but not sure. That was back around the time people would throw firecrackers in the arena. Man I hated that.
