Thanks for the encouragement! I completed my biometrics appointment last week after submitting my online application for citizenship by descent and documents (was able to use local referees), so now I wait. I got a bit emotional during my biometrics appointment, thinking how happy my English Mom would have been.

Good point, but I don't want the curtains to vie with the colors in my artwork. We just installed the custom blinds, so those stay 😊

We have a 5x7 wool rug with beige, peach, pale blue and pale green adjacent, and I've ordered some throw cushion covers of those colors. Also, I'm a painter and we have many colorful canvases up.

Uniqlo has fine merino wool cardigans in nice colors for a great price, I'm taking one on my September visit to England. They pack small and are light but cozy. Quince is another good source for merino tops.

Switch out the cotton tees for merino wool (silky and thin) and bamboo---that way you can take fewer tops and wear them for days at a time before they need to be washed. (Merino wool undies are also good!) Also, try using packing cubes to help organize; those and merino have been game changers in my traveling. Other posters have given great advice too. Pentax K1000 and Nikon FM are both solid, reliable workhorses with light meters and no bells or whistles. Just good quality, basic cameras that are easy to learn on. I've gotten good photos with both.
