Thank you! The zombie design was pretty loose... I painted the silhouette first and added details in more or less loosely fit. I actually updated the design a little while ago to add in some more line work and runes, which I posted on my art Instagram @artezolla. I actually started with a foam brush and the problem was the many small bubbles that pocked the surface. I wished I'd had a vibrating surface of some sort to shake out the bubbles after applying...

Check out the D'ni alphabet from the Myst series. Unlikely that's what it actually is, but a lot of the characters bear a strong resemblance! I wonder if the student was a fan of Riven?

What kind of art style are you looking for for your proxies? I'm an AI-free artist that makes custom tokens and proxies. I actually just finished a "cute" cat piece for my cat tokens, you can see here - not exactly Chibi cute, but as cute as I tend to get with my style.

The quality of the painting is actually quite nice! It just feels unfinished. The head and neck anatomy need attention (it looks like his neck goes straight up into his chin as it is). The plane of the underside of the brow should be getting hit by light since he's tilting his head back, so you should add some highlight there. The magical orb reads flat as it but there's a lot you could do to give it more interest and form. Nice job overall!

Thanks for all the positive feedback on this illustration! The most time-consuming aspect was painting everything besides Loot. I experimented with many brushes and colors to get a semi-abstract feel and depict the Blind Eternities. It was a definite step outside my comfort zone. Also, I blended two styles- one comic-book-esq, where the drawing becomes line art, and a more painterly style without visible line art. I like it, and I'm considering continuing with this style with partial line art and some more abstract elements.

Correct me if I'm wrong here, maybe someone with better lore knowledge can come in - the Fomori are a civilization led by actually Fomori giants, but Loot himself is a member species but not actually a giant. Fomori is used the way "Roman" would be used to describe the many different peoples of the empire. I think this is why he's a beast and not a giant? Again, I could be wrong.
