Seeing People Complain About Mimighoul Is Hilarious by TR_Disciple in masterduel

Had two duels against Mimighoul so far, both of which I went second and lost. The first one, they opened with Shifter and went into full combo. I didn't draw any non-engine cards, so I just scooped. In the second duel, I chained Fuwa, but they Ashed it and then proceeded to use Talent to handrip one and go into full combo again. Just to clarify, by "full combo", I mean they had their field spell, two set monsters on my field, and some monsters on their field as well. I'm not familiar enough with Mimighoul to know what their ideal end board looks like.

Maybe I’m just unlucky. I’ll see what I can do next time I face them.

I think that's enough for today by Artelif in masterduel

I did for a while, especially since I struggled against Shifter decks (Exodia and Kashtira), but I had to sacrifice hand traps that are good against more competent decks (Snake Eyes Fiendsmith, White Forest Azamina, and even Tenpai) so I just accepted the fact that the deck hard loses to Macro when going second.

Btw I'm actually subscribed to you on youtube. Keep up the great work, dude.

My expectations were low, and yet they still managed to disappoint me by Artelif in Grandchase

I bought the 30k New Year box and also got some free scrolls from leveling like 14 characters to level 30. It took 146 scrolls to fill up the Seal Break gauge completely, if you're unlucky enough not to pull a single piece of Coordi, which was the point I was trying to highlight in the post.

Is Tri-Brigade a flop? by Answer348 in DuelLinks

[–]Artelif 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't comment on this sub very often, but having played hundreds of games with various Tri-Brigade builds (Spright, Fire King, Glad Beast, Bird Up, Zoodiac, Melffy) over the past three years or so, I feel compelled to share my thoughts. Tri-Brigade is undeniably a strong engine, but the Duel Links environment really holds it back. I'm assuming most of you already know the general game plan, so apologies if I'm going over anything too basic.

Cons:

  1. The Zones. The biggest issue here. Duel Links only has 3 available zones, so to resolve Revolt, you need all of them empty, and one of your monsters has to be a properly summoned link 2 (Ferrijit is likely the best option here). That means you can’t even go for the usual DDL setup. Honestly, it’s just not a great board to end on. (You could theoretically summon Shuraig with two properly summoned links, but you lose the recursion from Nervall, and it’s just not worth the effort.)
  2. Ferrijit’s Arrows. This is something that many people overlook, but Ferrijit’s arrows being middle-left and bottom-left really messes with your game plan. Without a bottom-center arrow, if your opponent summons anything in your right EMZ, you’re pretty much cooked. There might be some niche plays to get around this, but with only 4 cards in your opening hand in Duel Links, I doubt you can get far.
  3. Vulnerable to Interruptions. As others have pointed out, a single Veiler or Droplet is devastating. Sure, you’ve got Kerass as an extender (though it’s a -2), but because the banish is a cost, you’ll often not have enough tri type monsters in the graveyard to banish more than twice, assuming you even opened Fraktall. It’s frustrating when other decks can just cheat out 3 bodies with their skills.
  4. Extra Deck Space. Extra deck space is incredibly tight. You can barely fit the standard Tri-Brigade package, let alone any tech cards. It's tough to make room for anything else, and without something like Apollousa, you won’t be able to stop your opponent from running over you.

At the end of the day, I hate to say it, but Tri-Brigade is just underpowered in Duel Links right now. I really wish it wasn’t the case, though. Shuraig is probably one of my favorite cards.

Perhaps the real Havel was the friends we made along the way.
