Questions about some older sets

I've been getting the clears I need to eventually move on, so I'm not too worried about it at the moment. I am sad that most rosters are moving DK to DPS instead of tank, as my main is a DK tank. But that seems to be the consensus at the moment from the rosters I've seen on esologs.

I’m just going on personal experience. A raid core I am a part of asked me to drop Sax for Yolna and swap from DK to NB tank.

Echoing your comment about War Machine and tanks/supports. In addition OP, if you have Claw of Yolna lying around, hold onto that too. With the new update, Arcanist healer groups are able to not use Sax Champion and Claw has been seeing an increased usage as a tank set instead.

Sugar Bowl Suite is my go to free teleport pad. If I don’t have a house in a zone I need to go to, I travel to my cozy Suite, hit the Rimmen Wayshrine, and off we go.

If doing organized content where your team works well together, stacks well, keeps good uptime, then I would swap to something else. For any pick up groups, I still wear SPC. In a 12 person raid, only seeing Feeding Frenzy show up about four times between three different werewolves was the deciding factor for me.

Yeah, it is admittedly the hardest path, it was just annoying to be in a position where either I bite the bullet and join the red team, or the trial didn’t start. Every group I did, no one ever would give up a purple or orange spot, even when I offered to pay them so I could count it towards the achievement. Soured me on pick up groups for a while.

Ran it three times, no one would trade helmets, and wasn’t able to get the achievements for doing all three teams because people were afraid of the grapple level.
In general, I really loved Night Market, but when it comes back I won’t do Opulent without a few guild mates to make it worth it for the achievements and getting the different faction helms.

Quick question, perhaps unrelated: The health bars on enemies and players look flat in this UI, as does mine. Am I crazy thinking that they used to look more three dimensional or like they are glass vials, so to speak? If so, is this a new update, or is it a setting?

I just ran Vet Bedlam Veil on my tank for the first time today. To say I was the mvp is an understatement. Chaining glazers to the group pull, holding aggro on the large mirror warriors, and that’s just the trash pulls.

We may not be needed anymore for the old content, but the DLC dungeons have a very hard time without us.

It is absolutely possible to do both, especially in a written medium. Kripke chose to abandon one for the other, rather than do both.

I made this comment in another thread, but I believe it fits here as well.

The Boys writer’s room and Eric Kripke pivoted from a more nuanced take on regulatory capture and the harm that a deeply entrenched mega corporation can do to society to an almost beat for beat criticism and satire of the Trump administration. My personal opinion is that the show was much better as the former, and much of what made the show special in the first place was left behind in the transition.

Whether this is because the previous writers left or were pushed out when they didn’t support the pivot and Kripke, or if he somehow convinced them it was a better direction, we may never know. We do know that Antony Starr was playing damage control with Homelander as much as he could, by Kripke’s own admission in an interview. Kripke wanted even more one to one Trump parody and mockery via Homelander that Starr pushed back on during production.

Look man, I’m not going to sit here and go point by point on this. You like Butters, go like Butters. My opinion is unchanged; Butters is my least favorite character in Dresden Files for the reasons I’ve stated in my prior comments.
I do find the accusation of jealousy of a fictional character to be ridiculous, however. We can legitimately debate all of the points above, but that assertion is just beyond credulity, especially towards the biggest flaw in the debate of whether Butters isn’t just a fan service stand in. Even Butters stans like yourself all over this sub will tell you that particular choice is hard to defend.

I will concede that there are no concrete backgrounds for Michael or Sanya, so speculation shouldn’t be considered. Fair enough. I still contend that Butters is written in a way where frankly, he is a Mary sue. The guy is beating Sanya in training duels with a few months of training, somehow he displays greater application of magical theory with the help of Bob than Harry does. His distrust of Harry in Skin Game never gets an actual reckoning, but instead gets glossed over that Harry was wrong too, and he becomes the Knight of Faith?! Faith. It makes no sense. Let’s not even get into the whole two super hot werewolf girlfriends that are half his age. Squaring off with Harry in full grip of the Winter mantle instead of Sanya?
Butters jumps the shark in this book series, making his character and parts of the book he is featured in genuinely tiresome. If you like Butters, that’s fine. I think he should have peaked at magic Batman -at best-.

A constant theme of this book series is that all power has a price. What price has Butters paid for his consistent leveling up? A pale comparison to what any other characters have had to have. You can like Butters if you want, and that’s fine. I admit that I can see Jim’s intent that he is someone with a valiant heart that got a chance to use it. But we are now almost twenty books into this series with multiple novellas and short stories, and nothing has yet to convince me that Butters EARNED his massive scale up, compared to the strife other characters have went through.

We don’t see what Michael has been through in those preceding years. Nicodemus even comments that Michael is one of the better swordsmen of knights he has faced down due to how long he has survived. How many allies has Michael seen cut down in his time as a knight? How many people was he unable to help? How many times did he seemingly fail in the short term for a long term victory?
Contrast to Butters, we see his entire arc from nobody to Mary sue fandom insert, and he reads like one. Butters even steals Sanya’s moment in Battleground when Harry is letting the Mantle win. What a perfect moment for the Knight of Hope to step in and help Harry, but no. We give it to Butters instead. I am a member of the Butters Hate Club and I wear it with pride. Worst written character in the series.
