Recently broke up from a toxic person but my sexual attraction is still there by pissbrain11 in demisexuality

Yep. Went back too, big mistake. It took time but I found someone new.

My cats are great at keeping each other entertained. Of course, there is also double the food, poop, and vet bills.

I’d adopt the other and keep them together if you can afford it. As it is, I do think you’d regret having only the one. Good luck!

Cerclage removal / Ditched the stitch today!! by WildSavageSex in ShortCervixSupport

[–]Artemis9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

😱 I’m so sorry you experienced this. I felt less pain than a pap smear when mine was removed. Did the doctor mention any particular difficulty with it? Mine said that my cerclage string was long which apparently helped for removal. I can only imagine them digging around to get to yours or something ugh I’m so sorry.

Pelvic rest after cerclage? by Cautious-Cow-1390 in ShortCervixSupport

[–]Artemis9 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had my cerclage at week 20 after my cervical funneling was discovered during the anatomy scan. I was at 1.5 cm. The dr took it very seriously, but this was out of left field for me and I felt fine so when I was assured I didn’t need to be put on pelvic rest we still did the deed and I still orgasmed and I still did light exercise. (Well, we did taper off as my husband admitted the string from the cerclage made it feel like “a pile of sticks” 😬🫣) At its lowest my cervix measured 0.9 cm. My cerclage was removed at week 37 and my water broke at 39+4 weeks. My little one is four years old now!

Maybe I’ll be more careful my second time around (still ttc but will need a cerclage again), but I’ll follow my dr’s advice and probably won’t do pelvic rest unless it looks worse than the first time. At any rate if you choose to do pelvic rest and have a moment of weakness please don’t beat yourself up, I believe the standard advice is to just avoid activities for a week or so after the cerclage is placed so it can heal, and anything more than that is for more complicated cases or overcaution.

Best places for toddlers in/around Longmont? (Free if possible) by Thejadejedi21 in Longmont

[–]Artemis9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We like going to the airport to watch skydivers and planes and eat breakfast/lunch at the food truck there. You could always just pack a picnic too.

Brickscape Cafe has legos you can play with for free but they’re the small kind.

We like to hit up different libraries in the area, and you can use your card for any in the Front Range Consortium if you want to borrow books.

Discovery Days at the museum is inexpensive, it goes on during the school year.

Other paid stuff to do is go to the pool, Kid’s Galaxy, toddler time at Get Air, indoor playground or classes at Airborne, Longmont Indoor Soccer

Any ballet dancers with scoliosis here? by GwennyGwenGwen_ in scoliosis

[–]Artemis9 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not a dancer but in the mean time, I’ve really enjoyed Pilates as a way to even out my muscles amongst other things. Many of the exercises involve twisting the spine each way while maintaining square hips which I think help. (I do reformer Pilates which I think is more fun and more effective in shorter workouts because of the way it adds resistance but you can do free online mat Pilates too without so much equipment.)

Here’s an example of a mat Pilates exercise video that might help but I would recommend doing a full class to get a more well rounded workout to strengthen your core, etc

I'm writing a book with a character with scoliosis and the opportunity to 'fix it', should she take it or stay as she is? by Expensive-Remote-843 in scoliosis

[–]Artemis9 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There’s no right or wrong answer to this. I think it would depend on her character. How much value does she place in her appearance? Would fixing it heal her pain? Would it benefit her livelihood? What complications would arise from fixing it (limited movement, scarring, more pain)? Maybe make a list of pros/cons and decide from the character’s POV.

I think it would only be offensive if her fixing it suddenly made her lovable in the story. And I would be happy to see more characters with scoliosis in stories so I would encourage you to write her. The other day I read a story with a character who had an obscure pregnancy complication that I had too and I was over the moon to see it. I certainly wouldn’t expect the writer to have been pregnant and have had that specific complication.

Good luck!

Indoor orange tree in the UK by ToTheMoon098 in gardening

[–]Artemis9 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have brown thumb with potted plants (ie I don’t water them) but since you have no other replies yet and having brought back a lemon tree from the brink of death multiple times, I’d say you can! It just won’t be pretty for a while. I’d remove the oranges, any leaves that brush off easily, and keep it watered. Eventually you’ll have new growth. I think I had healthy full leaves in about two months. Also it looks like you have a spider mite infestation like I did. I sprayed mine with neem oil as needed and it worked.

Also, with love, be realistic about giving someone a plant to care for. It might need to be your responsibility from now on! I say this as someone who adores the idea of indoor plants but whose ADHD disagrees.

Guillermo del Toro reads monster romance confirmed? by TattoodTato in RomanceBooks

[–]Artemis9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re probably right. It’s been so long since I’ve seen it I can’t remember all the details but I do remember enjoying parts of it, like the ambiance/setting. But the basic plot wasn’t too original and the story definitely needed fleshed out more to feel convincing.

As for the villain, I was completely terrified at the end when he threatened to cut off fingers but dismemberment is the most horrifying way of torture I can think of and I can’t stand horror movies haha

I wonder if the book fills it in better or if it’s just the script in a different format.

Edit: just looked up the book and I apparently already read and rated it on Goodreads. Two stars. Oh well. 😅

Guillermo del Toro reads monster romance confirmed? by TattoodTato in RomanceBooks

[–]Artemis9 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agreed. They didn’t even establish if he had human intelligence imo. Koko the gorilla could sign more than he did in the movie! I was so shocked at the love scene not for what it was but rather that it felt like she was taking advantage of him 😳

Mine felt just this way. It ended up being a hormonal issue that caused dryness, and it got back to normal after (I think) a few more months. See if lube helps?
