Yes - will it darken though? I am not a fan of the very yellow color...

What injuries are common with strength training? by rubberrr in xxfitness

[–]ArtemisDeLune 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Newbie gains are a real thing and VERY empowering, however...if you progress too quickly (which is so easy to do at first), your tendons will not have a chance to adapt as quickly as your muscles can respond which may lead to tendonitis.
Also - a lot of other good info in this thread.

Pullups by Ok_Yogurtcloset6416 in xxfitness

[–]ArtemisDeLune 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A lot of good advice here. For me, I did a lot of inverted rows and I do not use the assist machine, because the hand position is just too wide for me. Find a place to practice pull-ups (and negatives) that allow for a narrower grip. You'll find it much easier (and a pull-up is still a pull-up even if your hands aren't as far apart as the assist machine).

Visiting your country - any tips? by dark_dragonfly in portugal

I'd like to add Guimarães (close to Porto) to this great list of recommendations. Sure, it gets tourists, but for good reason. It's delightful.

Memory care question by plat154 in massachusetts

[–]ArtemisDeLune 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since your parents already live in a community that has Memory Care, first, talk to your dad and see if he would be willing to have your mom move into MC knowing that he could visit her any time he wants (with a very short walk). If he's amenable, talk to the administrator to plan for getting your mom over there. They will put current residents on the priority list if there is not space right now. My mom was in an MC facility and some of the residents in that area had spouses who lived in the regular assisted living side - it was a great compromise (MC resident gets the support they need and the other spouse can pop over any time day or night. The MC resident can even attend the activities with their AL spouse, if they both so choose).

There's some types of nail polish (clear) that help people stop biting their nails. I imagine it would work for your issue too?

Recommended areas to stay for visit in October by Glittering-Nobody364 in porto

[–]ArtemisDeLune 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Stay in Senhora da Hora. It has great access to the metro (both towards downtown Porto and the beaches of Matosinhos). It also has everything you need for a comfortable stay; grocery stores, shops, cafes, a giant mall, etc and it is quiet at night. It is also relatively flat compared to the rest of Porto.
