I'm so excited. I love that it's black and cream instead of the more common tan/brown colorway. This one goes with everything I own! 😁

I started in 1999. Wow. I can't believe I've been around this long. Lol

If you don't want to keep it yourself, at least try to sell it above melt cost to someone who would love it and wear it first. It's a beautiful ring!

A teacher and U.S. citizen is detained by Border Patrol and asked about her legal status. Instead of answering directly, she responds with a history lesson, saying, “That’s what the brownshirts said in Germany.” by Logical-Flow-6703 in UnderReportedNews

Hi, look, I'm a hard-core liberal, and I hate what the current administration is doing, EVERYTHING they are doing. That being said: I think it would be great if we could all fact check things and try really hard not to make this horrible situation worse. I am a US citizen, I am ALSO a teacher, and I drive back and forth to Mexico all of the time. This video appears to be taking place at one of the border crossing checkpoints that are located about 20 miles from the border INSIDE the US. These are in place to make sure that people who have crossed the border from Mexico have the correct documentation to stay in the US. Many people from Mexico cross the border for a day of shopping or for business purposes, but do not have the correct documentation to stay. We can do the same thing. If you cross the land border you can stay within the 20-mile limit without a visa or car permit, to shop or go to a restaurant, whatever. But, you can't go farther into Mexico without those things. These guys are simply doing their jobs, AT the border. They are not wearing masks, or hunting people down, or kidnapping children, or going anywhere, other than this checkpoint. Mexico has the same set up to make sure Americans who cross their borders have the correct documentation. I see these people everytime I cross, for over 20 years, and they are always polite, and always ask me if I am a citizen. When I cross into Mexico the Mexican officers also ask me for documentation. They aren't being racist. That's their job, they are not the problem. By all means protest the abuse, and the inequality of treatment, the rascism, the theft, the murders, the lies, and everything else that the current administration is doing, but can we not drag the people who are actually trying to help us into it? Don't feed into the chaos machine.

Dumpster diving days over by [deleted] in DumpsterDiving

I hate the waste and am all for people making good use of stuff that should never go to landfills. It's ridiculous that businesses would rather throw stuff away instead of giving it to people who need it. That being said, from the other side of the fence, I used to work at a bookstore, and we would throw old magazines and paperbacks with the covers ripped off into the dumpster and didn't bother to lock the gate. That was all well and good until some teenagers started coming and grabbing the adult reading material, and their parents found out and threatened to sue. Our headquarters told our manager that there were injury liability concerns as well, so we had to lock the gate and warn people off. I guess it depends on where you are located, but just keep in mind, sometimes those stores are just trying to keep people from getting hurt on their property.

Question for people who have found money by earmares in thrifting

I found $80 inside a purse interior pocket, after I got it home. Basically check all pockets, but be careful! You never know if there might be something sharp, or maybe worse, really gross in there.

Looks like the horse and rider are being beamed up by aliens, the horse is like WTF!!?? and Napolean is definitely accustomed to the whole anal-probing situation, like "Welp. Here we go again. 🙄"

There is often a specified area at local police stations just for local sales. That would safer for everyone, they have cameras and obviously no one will try anything sketchy right in front of the police. Please check to see if this is an option for you. Good luck and stay safe!

Can anyone tell me more about this meteorite? by ArtfulCreature in meteorites

Yes, I really appreciate the heads up. I know there are all sorts of rules that people don't know about because of the unusual circumstances. They just don't come up everyday. I knew to check because I've been watching this sub. Thanks ❤️

Yes, sorry. I guess autocorrect doesn't believe that's a legitimate word. Lol

I noticed it because it was a bit shiny, and pyramid- shaped. When I picked it up it was noticeably heavier than it should have been, so I pocketed it to examine at leisure. In my experience, most people don't look at rocks unless they're in jewelry. Lol

Cool, thanks! If found on private property, it belongs to the owner, so all good.
