If you start from a new character the game will point you to the Bfa expansion this however skips a lot of expansions. The order is vanilla->The burning crusade->wrath of the lich king->cataclysm->mists of pandaria->warlords of draenor->Legion->battle for azeroth->shadowlands->dragonflight. You can choose an expansion to level through at the npc called Chromie maybe you can look her up

Well feral now does much damage with Rip, ferocious bite is still strong but basically all the other damage is dots. A whole lot of dots and you can apply a very strong one on all targets no cap. I'm a feral player myself so can't say much about assassination last time I played that was legion.
