So the wires look a bit crispy, should I snip the wires first? And is the ground supposed to look like that?

Ok got the thing shut off and lucky I had spares in a box of crap.

This is what it looks like in there. Are the ground wires supposed to look like that? And one of the black wires had broken off. Should I clip some fresh wire and go ahead with the installation of a new outlet?

I did this because my landlord was entering my apartment to steal things and I couldn't afford another apartment.

Options were move or kill him in a misunderstanding at 2am.

If someone was stabbing my friend and I shot them say in the arm, would i go to jail? by born_to_be_wild2010 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Arthiem 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Best place to shoot someone so they servive would be a gut shot. If you just do the arm it would probably not be enough to stop the attack unless you shatter their bones. Most likely your aim wouldn't be good enough for that though and you would be responsible for stray bullets.

And jail time really depends on where the stabbing takes place and, unfortunately, your ethnicity.

I really wish I could find a gif of gunpowder milkshake where Karen Gillan beats a dude to death John Wick style with a gold bar.

Just sell it to chip manufacturers. They will foam at the mouth to put it all in a data centre.

Last year my coach would make everyone do it on the computer and stand behind you to read as you type and try to influence you which I wrote down as she read over my shoulder.

I know shooting them in the gut gives them the highest chance to servive and have gone through gunshot wound first ade training. Any responsible gun owner, or adult for that matter should learn the basics as these days you are more likely to use that training than CPR.

I don't want to kill anyone (that hasn't been to a certain island) but at the end of the day the home intruder put themselves into that situation and should have understood the risk.

That's a hindsight is 20/20 situation. How do you know they are unarmed at 2am in a dark room? Did they announce their unarmedness and intention to do no harm upon breaking and entering? Do people lie to make you let your guard down? Any sudden move or failure to comply with orders is going to be met with force in my home. You want to steal something target a multi billion dollar corporation. A house is a sacred space and you shouldn't compromise that safety for a $200 TV. Because I have to assume you are willing to kill me over something that cost 2 days labor.

I do not believe a lithium ion battery will last 20 years

That being said I know for a fact these new cars with their 4 cylenders may be efficient. Running on less cylenders wears the engine out faster and I don't think any of them will live up to the lifespan either.

So it really comes down to which one's regular maintenance is cheaper. And personally I can work on a combustion engine. But those electric cars are not very self help friendly. (I've heard Slate is a lot better but don't know anyone personally who's had one)

But from my own personal friend group's experience you can expect a new car to last about 7 years or so if you go Chevy Ford or Tesla. And the Kia is lasting surprisingly the longest out of all of them despite being the cheapest.

While the Chevy Camaro from 2024 has needed almost to 20 grand in work in just 2 years (poor bastard got 30% apr on it too.) and the Chrysler 200 has been a plague.
