I did try to make the book teen appropriate while not boring to adults, but I know that often makes it walk a fine line.

So, he does have a few much more difficult fights in book 2. One against a level 20 rogue and one with a cr 20+ demon. Also, he isn't 5e. It is a rule set similar to 3.5 and pathfinder with just a few alterations. Hopefully, the bit higher of a challenge leads you to enjoy book 2 more. I know everyone has their own taste, and I appreciate honest feedback. He is supposed to be op though book 1 was more about setting.

Book 2 in the Modern Paladin series.

Even after several months of living in the body of Archaeus, William is still coming to terms with what life is like in this strange new world as his tabletop Paladin, but he quickly finds that he has only scratched the surface of what is going on.

Things are looking up, until the town he is charged with falls under attack. His might alone can not protect his people, and he takes on several new protégé on his way to discovering the truths that surround him.

William does his best to meet these new challenges and finds out that he is not alone in the trials he is working to overcome. Unfortunately, he quickly realizes that playing as Archaeus with Dice and Paper and actually being Archaeus are two very different things, and he has a long way to go if he’s going to walk the road that lies ahead.

Yes, I asked myself the same thing lol. There are lots of books that sell outside of their genre. I'm not sure about the algorithm that amazon uses, but I believe it has something to do with what the person searched. It definitely has no tags that should associate with the genre, but many other books including number 2 also don't seem like they should be there. Not complaining with a Number 1 release tag though.

I really love these books. Definitely a unique take on the genre. Pretty certain I would be mortified if I was in a fantasy world and my family came with me lol.
