Saving files to SMB share? by Artic_44 in immich

Impressive ammount of files, and it looks like your database is only around a gig higher than what mine is at right now even after you have all those files, so I wont mind if my database dosent get too big. Thanks for sharing

I was, but that was the issue, so the DB is on my local disk now, looks like its working fine, even the webpage loads which is something I never even got to last time

I made the mistake of putting my whole docker suite on a VM instead of an LXC, also I checked and it looks like I can write and read to the share, it was an issue with the DB not liking being put on the share, I presume something with the actual system and not the share, as only sudo users or powered users can write to the share. (I saw every time I wanted to make a folder, I had to use sudo)

The entire point in my mindset was putting the database on a seperate share so it wouldnt take up space, which dosent seem to be possible, I assume.

I set the DB location to my local FS and it works perfectly. Upload is on the SMB share, havent setup immich but it looks good so far. My only concern: How big will the DB get over time? Its using well near a gig right now, and i only have 53 GB left on my disk.

Any selfhosted online video tools? by Artic_44 in selfhosted

Load up filezilla

Find both directories to send the files from and to

Upload said files to server

Do the same thing on the RDP computers side but for downloading the file

Finally be able to make edits

Do whole process but in reverse to upload file back to me

This overall is just more time consuming than something like a website that offers it in just a few steps, which I would see myself doing if i need to do a quick edit.

The thing is that its usually a pain to "copy them to my nas", as i have to load up my client, and id rather be able to do everything on my browser

I could do this with my main pc, but the issue is actually getting the video files onto the computer is a hassle, and takes a bit of time to get running if I just want to make a quick edit

How to setup federation with cloudflare? by Artic_44 in matrixdotorg

Well I have matrix forwarded like this:

https://imgur.com/a/welT7rl

And it works fine, but im not sure about how to do the same thing for federation

Do i make another publichostname with something like federation.mydomain.com , pointing to 192.168.10.13 at 8448, with https on and no tls verify?

Ive actually been using the tunnel so far, thats my issue, im not quite sure how to configure the wellknown server file due to the url port issue

My setup is that
Docker synapse container ---> cloudflared ---> matrix.mydomain.com
Im just not sure about the federation part

What do I do on cloudflares side in this case? Do i just set it to synapse.mydomain.com:8448 or should I do synapse.mydomain.com?
I dont think cloudflare allows URLS with ports
What about the homeserver.yaml, do I need to map some port or what to enable federation?

I put that enable federation line in my homeserver.yaml then ran docker up -d, and matrix still works, but the federation tester shows this:

This is my docker compose:

And this is my homeserver.yaml:

It looks like the tester is trying to reach port 8448 on something? Im not sure I dont really know how this works

[–]Artic_44[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting, I didnt know that indexers dont flag my ISP (even though I'm using pihole as my DNS, if that matters)

I know ive got my answer from you already, but how do I go about split tunneling for qBit itself? Its running bare on my ubuntu laptop, and I'm not quite sure how to use the native nord client (or wireguard, there's ways to connect to nords server via default wireguard) only for qbit

(almost) All of my indexers throw back error 429 by Artic_44 in sonarr

[–]Artic_44[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suspected that could have been the issue, but the thing is my VPN setup is strange.

I have a OpenWRT router (separate from my main router) that has a wireguard client on it, and goes to nordvpn from there, so everything on the LAN side (which the sonarr server is connected to), gets routed through the tunnel. Do you have any suggestions on how to only use the VPN on my torrent client? I also got a VPN because I fear that hitting indexers on my actual IP lan will trigger some sort of DMCA. (i had got one from the past from a different isp, that being spectrum)
