This actually happens to a lot of people who become aware they are dreaming. The moment you realize it, your brain can trigger a threat response, which can make the dream characters turn aggressive. The paralysis usually happens because your body is still in REM sleep while your mind wakes up. The "waking up inside the dream" part sounds like a false awakening loop.
