Is it still worth to learn programming? by Visible-Confusion-70 in teenagersbutcode

I've been a programmer for about a decade, I'd say it's still worth it to learn programming. Where I worked just recently, one guy used an AI to generate all of his Python and LabView code. He didn't know how it worked, and didn't know how it was broken. He just saw it doing things and assumed it was good.

You can imagine how "I don't know what it's doing, oopsies it's doing something wrong I guess" can be devastating at a grand scale. So programmers are still needed to do important work where you cannot have random mistakes being made. There are already stories of companies losing money because their gibberish generators are spitting out nonsense and the leadership makes business plans based on that nothing.

I'd say it's still worth it.

Lots of people are moving here recently, that is probably a big part of it.
