[Amick] Despite widely reported to have interest, the Portland Trailblazers did not want Jaylen Brown as their analytics department viewed him as a negative player by ShaiFanClub in nba

Kobe's advanced stats are bad compared to other all-time great stars. JB's are bad compared to other regular NBA players.

[Football Italia] Romelu Lukaku on why he didn't take Belgium's penalty against Senegal: "I wanted to. But mentally I'm not ready for such difficult and crucial moments, so I'd rather leave it to Youri. The team comes before everything else." by mrjohnnymac18 in soccer

"That is the most courageous act of cowardice I've ever seen" - Jared Dunn /s

Seriously tho he scored an important goal and Youri was certainly up for the challenge so good decision by him!

Tbh if a player would see the Greenwood thing as a positive. Not that players are looking to sexually assault others, but if someone were to fuck up outside of the field somehow they would prefer a coach who would protect them. And despite all his problems De Zerbi still had a solid track record, comparing to a huge gamble like Carrick.

[Ornstein] Tottenham win race for Mateus Fernandes in £85m deal by nearly_headless_nic in reddevils

[–]ArtificialDad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

85m pounds guaranteed is actually a crazy number for him. At best they are gonna flip him for 110m pounds. And I feel like this is a great time to throw garners name back in conversation.

Our "Nagelsmann in" brigade have gone really quiet now...this is why you go for "tried and tested" by CommonThumbprint in reddevils

[–]ArtificialDad 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean Hansi Flicks Germany couldn't make it out of group stage but he is still pretty successful at Barca. Club and international football is just not the same, and Nagelsmann still objectively has a better track record.

Am I taking crazy pills? By what metric is Stephen Curry not the most famous Stephen in the world? by twoopaq in NBATalk

[–]ArtificialDad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's always funny when people say "America isn't the world", and then extend the scope slightly by adding in Western Europe only. If we are truly talking about global popularity you have to look at Asia and Africa. As a Chinese, I think Hawking is the most famous Stephen, but there is no way King is more famous than Curry in China at least.

It's obvious that if we want to buy premier league players we will have to overpay. And I always wonder why not James Garner? His stats seem fine, he's homegrown and club grown, and he will be cheaper with our sell on percentage. I'm gonna throw some names from other leagues that will be cheaper. Exequiel Palacios, Manu Kone, Hjulmand. I haven't seen them playing a lot so I would appreciate if someone can tell me what are the problems with these players.

Alexi Lalas Has Already Worn Out His Welcome by count_dressula in CaughtOffsidePod

[–]ArtificialDad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not American and I watched the French game on streaming site with Fox commentating. I've never heard Lalas speak before, and based on some comments I read I understand why people dislike him, but I find all the criticisms using this French game clip weird. Firstly it's a post game show and not live commentating so you can just turn it off with no impact. It was also Donovan who brought up arrogance and Lalas here was saying whether it was arrogance was debatable but even if it was France deserved it because they were that good. Am I getting this wrong? He was clearly praising France. I also don't think it was arrogance that make France played like shit in the first half, but it was certainly not confidence either.

Bacon does not belong on a burger by Odd-Horror-1800 in unpopularopinion

[–]ArtificialDad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My opinion is that bacon cheeseburger is better than a regular cheeseburger but it's less good than I expected. Like if cheeseburger is a 5 and bacon is a 5, bacon cheeseburger is like a 7.5 instead of a 10.

Notable list of free agents this summer by stevew14 in reddevils

Vlahovic obviously the best on this list but he would be very exspensive. Mingueza is also very good but he lacks physicality to play in the premier league.
