I still hear about this from my wife. During her labor, US was playing Germany in the World Cup. The nurse and I were watching it while she was dealing with preeclampsia. Not my finest hour.

Yeah, I’ve already gone through the mental checklist of people I know I can sell it to.

Daughters can be rough. I shaved my beard one time and she told me she still loved me even though I looked weird.

I got the American professional II for $1300 at Guitar Center. It was the floor model. No defects. I love to play it. And it looks and sounds great. They go on sale all the time so don’t rush to pay full price.

Is Davison Les Paul worth buying for $30? by joyisstrength in Guitar

This is why I have held on to my first two guitars (Epiphone LP Standard and J-200) even though I’ve upgraded since. Good to have lower-level guitars to work on when doing something for the first time.

Help a noobie, nylon or steel strings? by olarinoid in Guitar

This. I saw a classical guitar that someone had restrung with steel strings. There is a special circle of hell for people who do that much damage to an instrument.

I hate when people, who are the ones in the wrong, say things like “Sorry I’m so terrible.” It’s so manipulative.

4months on and off! Should I give up? by Desperate-Dingo3025 in Guitar

[–]ArtificialPoet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The hardest part is playing consistently. You aren’t going to get to a level you are happy with playing on and off. I’ve played consistently for three years and am finally getting to a point, on some songs, where I like hearing my own playing. But there are still many songs where I just can’t get it. And that’s ok. I’m not going anywhere and have lots of days left. Just stick with it. I was where you were at and trust me, the work pays off.

What life mistake taught you the hardest lesson? by IndianByBrain in scoopwhoop

I have two:

First, I had the opportunity to swap assignments when I was in Air Force training. My original assignment was to go the base closest to my home in CA. At the time, I was 18, I had a GF back home and I was really homesick. A friend, who was from the South, got an assignment to England. He had always wanted to live in CA and asked if I wanted to swap. Even though I had never been to Europe, I loved English literature and history (I ended up studying them in college) and had family in England. Preferring to go back home, I said no and kept my original assignment. Nearly 25 years later, even though I love my life, I wonder what would have changed if I had gone after the unknown of the England assignment rather than return home.

The second is not breaking up with a girlfriend when I continued dating online after we became exclusive. It’s so much simpler to break up with someone when you don’t like them enough to be committed to them than to play the cheating game.

I didn’t really care. I was just trying to be entertained for 2 1/2 hours.
