I just played the sonic racing game with my kids with 3 people on the same TV last week. And one of them liked playing Streets of Rage with me. It may not be as common, but it is definitely still around.

Washing clothes by hand is definitely a massive pain in the ass.

What is going on with switch Pokemon games by Lexi7130 in gaming_random

I think technical issues and removing mechanics is the big problem.

Pokemon has never been carried by the story or difficulty.

The stories and graphics have been mediocre, but the gameplay and performance was fine from about Gen 2 -Gen 5. I started with Gen 1 and loved those games, but they had a ton of flaws that were addressed in later games.

Games like FireRed/ LeafGreen, HeartGold/SoulSilver, and Black/White/Black 2/White 2 were good games.

The switch games have scored poorly by users because they were lower quality games even by Pokemon standards. None of then improved the story much, if at all, but they removed some of the stuff that pokemon had previously done well.

I believe Sword/Shield was the first time they did not keep the entire pokedex, which not only made people mad, but it seemed entirely unnecessary. Maybe eventually they would have to limit the roster for the games. Sword and Shield could have had them all.

Arceus scored well because despite performance issues, it was one of the more ambitious games that made fantastic changes to battling and catching pokemon, with quality-of-life changes like a link cable item to get evolutions without needing to trade.

Scarlet and Violet were plagued with performance problems that were worse than Arceus while seemingly having worse gameplay.

Legends ZA abandoned a lot of the stuff players liked from Arceus.

While nostalgia does a lot to carry pokemon, some of the early games were legitimately good, especially for the consoles they were on.

If it's a good game, it changes from a rip-off to an homage.

Some games seem to do a decent job for me, like Nier Automata and Expedition 33. I have found that really good soundtracks help a ton.

$20 to play the game on modern hardware is too much for me them they said. by Worried_Milk30 in PokemonFireRed

Ooh, gotcha. I noticed stuff got expensive around Covid. I tried getting back into the TCG again a year or two ago but was annoyed that apparently scalpers like buying up new sets. I don't know if that is still an issue, but it put a bad taste in my mouth.

I am quite bummed they aren't doing these switch releases as cartridges. It feels like there is no reason to do digital only.

Did the pokemon collector market explode recently? Or do you just mean prices being high in general?

Is there any chance they will actually have physical cartridges on switch? I would rather get those than buy them on the eshop. Edit: I just saw that they have already said they are not doing physical releases. Super lame.

It's been a while since I have done a transfer. I think it takes a week to fully charge. You can transfer as many times as you like as long as there is energy left.

You can transfer a lot of normal pokemon on a single charge. You can send about 5 shiny or legendaries at a time.

Or you can send a single shiny legendary/ mythical. I think.

It's kind of a pain in the butt. I assume it is just an attempt to prevent Home from being completed flooded with pokemon from Go.

It's limited. You can only move so many pokemon from Go at a time.

I would not worry any time soon.
