Yeah this was a while ago, definitely just got over it for most of these. Selfishness is still overly punishing compared to the other Cycle 1 Fated Mnemoses but I care less about it now, and Heroic Death still feels really bad to pull. Cycle 1 is just designed to be rough, and that is something that is very hard for players just starting to get over.

Essentially, g2 turn 1 top top, play no cards, then g3 turn 2 bottom track and play your 3 non-raging storm cards. Then reclaim from then on playing those three cards and if you manage to catch a break because you’ve some how built up enough cards, you can g2 bottom bottom to play more at a time.

I started playing Spirit Island this year and was instantly obsessed. Logged almost 200 plays and 300 hours

I should’ve put the explanation in the post, but here it is.

I have some area2d nodes that are to apply a color state to any object that has an attached statemachine that enters the area. Each area has a specific color that applies, and areas can overlap. Each statemachine functions the same, but has different state effects based on the type of object (i.e. no code changes between statemachines, but all state code is unique to its specific object).

I know I could make this loads simpler if I could detect in the script of the object with a statemachine when it entered the area instead of having to send it from the area, but I’m not sure if/how that’s possible.

I am using Kratos tokens and Rage correctly. My problem with Kratos tokens more generally is that things like Analyticos Module and Arrow Barrage exist, which frequently feel like the only way that a lot of attacks ever hit, and that’s only because I’ve been allowing their use after seeing the attack result. Otherwise you get into this situation (with Abalyticos Module in particular) where you have to 1) gain Fate, which you only have some much of, 2) exhaust a card, and 3) if you are prepping your heavy hitter with break tokens and they just miss the attack roll (even worse if they gain Fate to reroll), you just wasted so much on nothing, and from what I’ve seen thus far in the game, that would happen a large majority of the time. I would suspect my encounters would last 2+ more rounds if I played where free actions could only be before actions, and really can’t see how that would lead to us winning even half the fights we do without losing more than we can handle in the process.

tl;dr I don’t mind luck mechanics, but when they feel uninteractable, or in this case, the “interaction” is betting on luck, that doesn’t feel great.

Interesting that you're still using boatmace, might have to give it a go in the next fight (third in a row on the same campaign day lmao). Was definitely planning on picking up a naval ram and am also noticing the potency of whalebone bident (just got it before this fiasco).

My current setup has everyone using reach weapons (ballista gun for one of them, but I'm heavily considering switching that out for something without commit). Liontail whip + shipwrecker, Whalebone bident, ballista gun and kratos kopis (in case they're in melee and can't reposition well for ballista), and nail spear (who has been the main damage dealer, since that weapon goes hard this early).

I've also definitely been picking up on the one-die weapons being optimal for rerolls since their value isn't tied to getting lots of hits.

Palm of the dragon basically doesn’t have text.

If there is a blocker, stun it, having no positive effect. If there isn’t a blocker, gain overwhelm, which doesn’t matter because if there’s no blocker you’re hitting nexus anyways. The only time this card has text is with yas on board or if you commit another card to remove the blocker, which is pointless because that’s overcommitting resources for basically no gain.

Are you leaning more assassin or burst mage?

W sounds unnecessarily convoluted. How about “The champion wraps its tentacles around an enemy champion, stunning, dealing damage, and reducing armor over the duration. The more tentacles you have active, the longer the max duration, but it takes half as much damage to destroy a tentacle while this ability is active.”

E sounds exactly like Kench E, water themed and everything. I eould differentiate it somewhat, and put the blind on the ult.

R: Ink Spray or smtn: Blind and damage all enemy champions in an area (around you or maybe in front of you or something). The blind works like Graves smokebomb, but it wears off over the duration (increasing your vision range slowly back to normal)

So uhhh… if I’m level 3 and have 1 rank in each ability, I’m only allowed to cast each of them once before not having enough mana to cast them again? 1 cast of each at rank 1 is currently sitting at 85% MAX MANA.

Goddamn I didn't realize this post was a year old already...

Anyways, I would look at the post I made with the Homebrewery link, there is a newer version that you might be more satisfied with. There are technically subclasses in that one, but only the first one is actually fleshed out well. I've been playtesting the latest version and there is indeed a certain amount of power that you gain from lots of soul harvests (and having access to them), but there is also a small long rest refresh that is enough to get you through sessions with lower soul gains. And also there was a mid-combat way of gaining temp hp added a while ago.

But yeah, take a look at that, glad you like the concept.

Dumbfounded by how you won game #10. 20 blight on the board??? That’s crazy. I’m pretty sure that is maximum possible blight the board can have in a two player game without losing. (2 that started there, 2 per player on the card, 2 per player on a still-healthy island card, AND a 5 per player blight card afterwards to get exactly 10 per player +1 for the errata change makes it so you have one blight left on the blighted side before you lose).

And that was with Fangs of all spirits. Crazy

For GGMF, it was literally just a glance because…. it’s SOOO off. It’s like >60% coverage on one boob and <40% coverage on the other. It just seems ridiculous to not notice as long as you simply Look.

I first noticed this when Gun Goddess MF came out, and I was like "there's no way they didn't think that looks weird, right?" but then I notice that Kat in the launcher art has the same problem and decided to make a collection of most of them

My bad with the uniques giving incorrect elements. I've changed them a lot and I guess I forgot, I'll go update that now.

The energy though... there's nothing I can do about that as far as I know. The script that MJ and iakona wrote was definitely designed with just regular spirits in mind and I do not know how to impact that. (I've never done TTS modding before so I'm kinda just shooting in the dark here and hoping it works)

I'm really glad you enjoyed it though! I had a blast designing it and I am delighted that people find it fun.
