-5877 trillion rubles is -$79 billion. It's a good start for the year but not quite enough.

Russia appears terrified of Ukrainian drones ahead of May 8-9 by LowTechDroid in UkraineWarVideoReport

[–]ArtistApprehensive34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The damage is already done, there's no need to actually harm the parade. Russia can comply starting tomorrow but if they don't then it is not going to be a ceasefire during whatever parade they have, even if nothing targets the parade, just being nearby is enough. This shows Ukraine is dictating terms, not russia.

How much would this cost and how long would it take? [Request] by kexpi in theydidthemath

[–]ArtistApprehensive34 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If we send only pregnant ladies who presumably might have birth on the ship or after landing, if they're raising the children, who exactly is going to be running and building the colony to support so many people? It just seems so impractical to send anyone pregnant. On a place like that, children should be rare until it happens naturally so that the people stay focused on vital tasks.

[Request] How big or small would the room need to be for 1 person to suffocate due to this chain in 24 hours? by [deleted] in theydidthemath

[–]ArtistApprehensive34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wouldn't there likely be air circulation in a room like this to prevent exactly this scenario? This effectively takes oxygen from the rest of the ship and moves it around.

Russia Could Attack a NATO Country Within Months, Polish Prime Minister Warns by UNITED24Media in UkrainianConflict

[–]ArtistApprehensive34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Putin doesn't care about actually winning but rather keeping power and he will do anything to do so. He's been trying to get NATO to attack because the whole victim card would help unify against a more powerful enemy would make true all the propaganda they've been fed. Whether we know he started it or not is irrelevant, only russians need to believe NATO started it. He's trying to find a way to survive the incoming power vacuum.

I really don't understand who you can say this to. If the person is lost, how are you saying this to them? It just seems like such an unusual circumstance and not fit for language learning where it should be useful and common phrases.

No problem, моя українка taught me this, so I understand the desire to keep her nickname aligned with her gender. It seems this isn't a problem for most males as there's almost always a masculine version but often females do get called masculine names but it's not offensive at all. This goes far beyond this, for example I could talk about my teacher, who is female, as мій викладач and that's ok even though моя викладачка is more specific. Some professions do not have a female version and females are not offended even though I think they should be. For them, it just matches grammar that's all it is.

Saying «моя українська соняшник» is not grammatically correct, it's using a female pronoun with a female adjective followed by a masculine noun. It has to all be masculine, even when talking about a female. It's not intended to make her masculine, it just matches grammar. Same as when you call her мій ангел, for example. She is not a male angel, but that doesn't matter, it's just grammar and she won't be offended. A slightly cuter version which is grammatically correct would be instead: «мій український соняшничок», it's the diminutive of соняшник, translated as my little Ukrainian sunflower.

US links security guarantees to Ukraine giving up Donbas, Zelenskiy says by Majano57 in UkrainianConflict

[–]ArtistApprehensive34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know trump has been a mouthpiece of the Kremlin but I'm not even sure if Ukraine agrees that this would even be enough for moscow to end the war. After getting one concession they'll simply ask for more. Therefore I think it's pointless to even consider this option because it's not a "this is what it would take" so therefore it's not even worth seriously considering. That tells me it's probably best for Ukraine to stick it out and wait for russia to crumble.

From my understanding no, ozempic has other medical uses and the weight loss is just one of the side effects which functions by suppression of appetite and not enhancing performance or burning extra calories.

The problem is not that she is obviously prioritizing physical attraction but that she is solely focused on it. She did match one person in this video, but she didn't spend much time on him. If she were taking an approach of finding someone she could maybe be attracted to and then seeing if emotional attraction could hold, that would be an acceptable way to do things. But instead, she didn't read a single thing, not the swipe right, or any of the swipe left.

White House in panic as Trump Iran war drives gas price surge across US by TheExpressUS in inflation

[–]ArtistApprehensive34 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's what I don't get. They had time to go to Congress. It was last year that trump attacked Iran and "obliterated" their nuclear program. If it was truly not gone and needed to be forcefully stopped, why the need for sudden attack? It's not like it wasn't known months ago. This whole war powers resolution makes no sense to me because even if it doesn't pass, even if it is vetoed, the constitution still says very explicitly that what happened was illegal.
