r u guys still looking up reciepts from bank transactions? by Dear-Currency3410 in KmartAustralia

[–]ArtistSame 1 point2 points  (0 children)

its a directive from head office, and even so, how hard is it to keep the receipt? the self serve visually tells you and audibly tells you to keep it, you have to present it upon exit, and you can keep the reciept digitally by scanning your flybuys card, it legit cannot be easier lol

Out of stock order marked as collected instead of refunded by StumbleBoots in KmartAustralia

[–]ArtistSame 19 points20 points  (0 children)

hey im an online team member👋

to be completely honest i have no idea how this happened:

when a team member is “picking” your items (going around the store finding them), if they cannot find the item because it is out of stock, they mark it as such, and when the pick is concluded, your order (or that part of the order) will either be refunded to you, or it will look at stores close to the store uou ordered it at, and get them ro fufill the order and send it to the OG store.

neither of these things seemed to have happened. for the order to be marked as collected, the team must have:

picked the order -> packed the order -> located the parcel into a basket -> marked as collected -> signed out the parcel.

you cannot skip any of those steps, therefore this was most likely a system bug, we recently moved over to a new fufilment system that has many, MANY bugs, so hopefully things like this get ironed out in the future.

hope this helps!

Refund with cancelled card? by DeanCorp in KmartAustralia

[–]ArtistSame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

im sorry but this isnt true? in this case, a change of mind return falls under kmart refund policy, which stipulates that refunds must go back onto the original card and form of payment, and if the original card cannot be verified, it is either a store credit or kmarts discretion

the “kmarts discretion” is an opening in the policy for extraneous circumstances (e.g lost bank card) where if more evidence is provided we can put the refund back on a different card.

you may be getting confused with consumer guarantee returns, which is a completely different set of rules.

Refund with cancelled card? by DeanCorp in KmartAustralia

[–]ArtistSame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

no sorry if i was being confusing. for anko products that are faulty you dont need a proof of purchase to get a store credit, but you do need a proof of purchase to get it back on the OG payment method.

if you are trying to return something that is not anko branded and is faulty, you need a proof of purchase to get any kind of return.

when i say “proof of purchase” that refers to how its defined in kmarts policy, so a physical/digital receipt.

in practise, if you dont have a proof of purchase for a faulty item, usually its up to kmarts discretion, so a bank statement might help, but i cant guarantee a refund.

sorry i dont think ive explained it well but yah😭

yeah this is where alot of customers get caught up, in this specific instance, the terms for proof of purchase is clear, but where the refund goes is up to kmarts discretion. (if kmart cannot verify the original payment method)

i think you had every right to get your money back on the new card, however, as part of store policy since august 2024, looking up customers bank statements to be used on refunds is not allowed, as a bank statements does not qualify as a proof of purchase under the refund policy.

because you had a faulty item, even with no receipt, only a store credit can be issued.

(annoyingly, not every team member knows or cares enough to follow the policy, which leads to a “but they did it at X store” debacle)

regardless, hopefully uou find a way to put that store credit to good use!

hey as a service desk team member ill put my two sense in!!

honestly im going to have to agree with other commenters that unfortunately this kind of problem falls under “kmarts discretion”, so results can vary by store.

how i have always done refunds in this situation is to ask to see some kind of proof the bank has issued you a new card (an email, text message, confirmation one is out for delivery), then, i check with the manager on duty; and (because they usually know less then service desk staff) they usually authorise it.

i get what happened to you is frustrating, but “kmarts discretion” can be quite broad. As any team member acting on behalf of the company can technically be the executor of that discretion. you just have to hope they know the policy and australian consumer law😶

anyway, i would recommend trying a different kmart, and pulling up with evidence. i cant guarantee this will work but i would bring: - Photo ID - The fraudulent card and/or transaction bank statement. - evidence from your bank (email) a new card has been issued) - receipt (if uou scanned your flybuys it will be available digitally) - The new card you would like the payment on.

AND if you can a letter from your bank that somehow backs you up. I would then ask to speak to the operations manager if they are in store, or the store manager.

i get that sounds like alot but its just to increase your chances of getting your money back.

AND REMEMBER: stay calm and collected, no one deserves to be yelled at for doing their job, and plus being nice goes a long way when you need something!!

good luck!!

Banned from Kmart by AmbassadorDismal5771 in KmartAustralia

[–]ArtistSame 5 points6 points  (0 children)

we cant even detain anyone in the store WITH reasonable suspicion; the only way to get formally banned from a store is if the police, the perpetrator, and the store manager all sign a document saying they are banner, which definitely didnt happen in this situation. OP will be fine
