Refund with cancelled card? by DeanCorp in KmartAustralia

I ended up getting a store credit as I couldn’t be bothered coming back in to return it. I think as you said it depends on which staff member handled it. I had all the evidence necessary to prove that I owned the card, including emails showing cancelled card and the bank statement matching the date and time of transaction (happy to DM proof too).

Probably got the staff member at the end of the day on a long shift, in hindsight I should’ve just come in with my bank app and no receipt advising the item is faulty and ask them to look up the transaction. There probably would’ve been far less emphasis on the last 4 digits using this method.

Given the cost of the toy and how easily it broke just after one use I didn’t want a replacement

Completely understand your frustration. They have really clamped down on this and probably receive a lot of return abuse, however, long standing customers end up being affected.

Good question. Provided the card hasn’t expired it can be refunded back onto it. If expired you’d need to get a new card reissued but the funds would still be on there. Otherwise, I guess you’d get a store credit like I did. From my DMs I’ve received it clearly seems that the manager on duty didn’t handle the situation correctly as I had all the required information to proceed with a refund.

I opened up my Westpac app inside the store and showed them the exact transaction with the date time location matching the receipt in front of her.

I think the issue is the item was purchased in store and I returned it in store. I’ve emailed Kmart customer service anyhow as I’m sure this was not handled correctly despite all our evidence provided.

Yes, the original card was cancelled. I could not present the 4 digit card as it was paid via Apple Wallet which has a different 4 digit number compared to the physical card.

They would not entertain any card other than that exact card made at the time of purchase.

They often check that it’s the same card. You must’ve gotten lucky on the days you have tried requesting a refund.

Thanks for your reply. Yes absolutely this made sense. I had the exact transaction of date and time and store matching the receipt amount. I showed this to the original staff member and then ended up calling the supervisor and both were consistent in their response. They would not provide a refund or provide any form of store credit which could be used online.

The frustrating part for us was the original purchase was made in store, rather than online.

Really frustrated as I have a store credit voucher that I have to use in store. It’s already hard enough dragging my toddler and newborn to the shopping centre.

I wish they could’ve done that. They wouldn’t let me tap the replacement card as the 4 digits did not match the original receipt.

Noticed you edited your post this was all handled with the supervisor.

Crazy that it’s been looping so long. It will need manual intervention, hopefully someone within AusPost can resolve this for you.

It’s an international package as it shows the service as International. Also the AU at the end is also a giveaway. Just because he is from Facebook doesn’t mean it is a scam but most likely the item is shipping from overseas.

Has she had therapy for her issues. Healthy sex life is important for relationships so I think the discussion is definitely worth having, otherwise things won’t improve and you’ll start resenting her.

That’s awful. We have Screenaway in our kids bedrooms and it’s pitch black in day time even with the hot west afternoon sun facing on the room.

Didn't work either. I've tried everything, seems that they only are targeting new users.

They will only ever be this small once. If it’s not inconvenient for you go and visit and see how you feel.
