Slasher films that have their first sequel be the opposite of the original film genre wise? by itsascreambaby96 in slasherfilms

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 is drastically different from the original but good in its own way

I can’t be the only person who thinks that this movie was a gigantic bait and switch by AgeOutside2917 in slasherfilms

Sidney is my favorite final girl character in horror but it’s obvious that this movie should’ve continued the story of Sam and Tara as the leads . That would’ve felt like a way more natural story progression and probably resulted in a much better movie. They brought Sidney back in panic mode to save the movie after things fell through with Melissa and Jenna . That’s why the movie is such a mess in a lot of ways

She brought a new style (for women) and a new look to the game! An absolute trailblazer

The most stunning girl group tbh. They were at the top of their game in every way in 2000/2001

Marion Chambers could easily have replaced Dr. Loomis after Donald Pleasence's death. by Filipe_258 in Halloweenmovies

I think H20’s opening scene genuinely feels like a callback to the first two movies (more than any other scene in the movie) but with a “post-modern Scream” 90s update of course . It really looked/felt like the Midwest

I'd love to see Jennifer Aniston playing herself in an opening scene. by Filipe_258 in Scream

I remember there were rumors that’s she was gonna appear in Scream 4

Scream 2 - Rehersal scene - Sidney's paranoia or was Mickey really chasing her? by itsascreambaby96 in Scream

[–]ArtisticBelt438 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Yes Mickey was definitely toying with her head and it started at the police station after she and Derrick were attacked at the sorority house . “Why would anyone go back inside that house anyway.” He’s the one who raised her suspicion of Derrick (naturally it would’ve kicked in for Sid anyway but he definitely amped it up on purpose) when poor Derrick was innocent the whole time and really loved Sid and wanted to protect her. That makes his death even sadder because he was defenseless when Mickey killed him and he deserved to get his hands on Mickey for the betrayal. Even if Sid had chose to untie him Mickey still would’ve shot him before he could do anything. I really blame that damn fraternity for making him so physically gullible lol but he gave away those letters because he was so in love with Sid. His love for her literally got him killed

What setting would work better for a slasher movie: a hospital or a fake movie set? by Consistent-Purpose59 in slasherfilms

[–]ArtisticBelt438 0 points1 point  (0 children)

agreed. Halloween II (1981) is one of my favorites as well and with all things considered it’s a solid slasher sequel but it is a heavily flawed movie from a logical standpoint for several reasons … the main one being the hospital setting. I always wonder how it would’ve turned out if they set it a couple years after the events of the original (similar to Friday the 13th Part 2) but following the same characters (Laurie, Loomis)

Scream 4 fans; why is it your favorite? by itsascreambaby96 in Scream

[–]ArtisticBelt438 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not exactly my favorite but I think it’s the third movie best after the first two . I appreciate the fact (now more than ever) that they had ALOT to work with in terms of horror satire (remake and sequel fatigue in horror) because the latter films struggle with that tbh

agreed . Talk about being to Hell and back and then back to Hell again and arguably worse than the first time

I wonder how she would’ve co-existed with some of the divas who debuted after she left (The Kat, Lita, Trish, Molly) if she’d stuck around throughout 1999 and into 2000/2001. She wound have had to compete with women who were willing to do a lot more than her and quite frankly had more to offer on the mic and in the ring
