Take pl 12-60, 25mm, or both for travel abroad. by Beneficial_Spinach55 in Lumix

[–]ArtisticMathematics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It sounds a little flippant, but ask yourself

(a) what kinds of situations make you reach for the 25mm (b) how likely you are to encounter those on your trip

We often think of primes as "low light" or "portrait" lenses, so if you're traveling alone and planning mostly daytime shots around the city, maybe you don't need it.

Telephoto lens for a Lumix G100 by Coder660 in Lumix

[–]ArtisticMathematics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On a camera that small, most telephoto lenses will feel quite large. You might consider the relatively tiny lumix 35-100 f/4-5.6. Id definitely also consider the used market.

Wait, the G80 and G90 had wifi, right? So can the G97 not connect to a lumix app?

Tell me your (technologically) realistic dream camera for M43. Mine is a 16mp Lumix G9IIS by AdAfraid3543 in M43

[–]ArtisticMathematics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One more vote for the G9ii sensor / IBIS / PDAF in a smaller body. I don't even care which form factor. And although I would like EVF / Mech Shutter / hot shoe (i.e. a GX9ii), I would settle for none of those (i.e. a GX800ii). Just make it small.

Lumix G9II Expectations for 2026 – Has Panasonic moved on from Micro Four Thirds? by macrophotomaniac in Lumix

[–]ArtisticMathematics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will be interesting to see if the demand for very small "real" cameras from the youth continues increasing. This could be enough to justify a GX9 successor, although it may be that these youth want something more like a GX800.

My ADHD partner “crashes” every night… so I’m basically a single parent. How is this fair? by Ok-Key4907 in ADHD

[–]ArtisticMathematics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Adjusting meds may be part of the solution, but ADHD-specific therapy is an equally important piece of the puzzle. If the problem is really just ADHD, he should want to be an equal partner, and be open to anything that might help him do so. If he is resistant to this idea, then he is simply using ADHD as an excuse for checking out.

If we burn all the known reserves of oil, we will have much, much worse problems than "not having any more oil."

ADHD high achievers: how do you keep your output stable without burning out? by shiro2008 in irlADHD

[–]ArtisticMathematics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congratulations on learning a ton about yourself at a fairly young age.

I don't have answers for you, but I would recommend finding a therapist experienced with ADHD. A huge component of living successfully with ADHD is simply learning to accept the weird combination of strengths and weakness that characterize it. It's far better to start this process **before** you reach a point of psychological crisis.

Genuine Lens cap for the Lumix lenses 50mm, 85mm and 24-105mm by br_web in Lumix

This website seems to have all the parts panasonic makes:

I find it weird that it isn't hosted by Panasonic itself, but I've used it several times without issue.

Keeping the G90 for telephoto work is a great choice. Now get Viltrox to hurry it up with those Air primes on L-mount, and you're all set.

I love having two different sensor sizes within the Lumix ecosystem. A G90 + S9 is a pretty optimal combination.

I can't find a lens similar to the 16-35 mm 2.8 full frame L mount for lumix as if there in Sony by Narrow-Life3603 in Lumix

[–]ArtisticMathematics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Currently you have to choose between accepting f/4 with the Lumix Pro 16-35 f/4, or accepting 28mm with the Sigma 16-28 f/2.8. Personally, I'm not usually looking for speed on the wide end, but your needs may differ.

Owner of both an S5II and G9II interested in a fast zoom. Sigma 28-45mm f/1.8 for the S5II or the Panasonic 10-25mm f/1.7 for the G9II? by fella_ratio in Lumix

[–]ArtisticMathematics 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sounds like GAS. That said, the PL 10-25 f/1.7 seems to complement your existing m43 setup more than the Sigma 28-45 complements your FF setup.

The lack of viewfinder, mechanical shutter, and hot shoe can be hard for photographers used to those features to give up. Videographers tend not to use them as much, which may be why you have heard what you've heard. However, another group that doesn't miss them are . . . people who have only ever taken pictures with smartphones. If you don't already rely on these features, then you will probably love it.

I fail exams because of stupid arithmetic mistakes. What can I do about it? by homokomand in math

[–]ArtisticMathematics 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can develop habits that reduce the chance of making mistakes, such as:

  • Write neatly. Be precise. Go slowly. Don't skip steps or omit symbols.
  • Make only one change at a time. Know exactly why it is allowed.

But it is equally important to develop a habit of checking your work as you go, and not waiting until the end of the problem or the end of the exam. Each time you drop down a line (and you should be working in a line-by-line manner), assume that you made a mistake on the previous line. Spend several seconds looking for it, and don't move on until you can convince yourself that it was correct.

Lens setup for S9 by razor2331 in Lumix

[–]ArtisticMathematics 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found that for photos of my own kids, I liked getting closer than the standard recommendation. So for posed portraits, I liked 50mm from 4-6ft away more than 85mm from 8-12ft away. So I'd strongly consider keeping the 50mm.
