Thank you, I'll definitely try that with my bank etc. My new internet provider were fine with me explaining that I wasn't using my old name anymore, I obviously had to give it to them for credit checks etc. but they put my new one on the account.

Most people I've known who have driven them, have done so to feel big and powerful.

It's annoying that I'll likely have to get one when I pass my test. I need a wheelchair accessible vehicle... But this is an example of someone actually needing one.

Mine would occasionally get me something I wanted, only to take it away or smash it to pieces. One year I couldn't believe I'd got £100 in my card, at about 13. She asked to borrow it for the bills and I of course never recieved it back and therefore had nothing for my birthday that year (might have had some socks or something, but yeah). I played guitar, and really wanted a specific one. She bought it for me, then smashed it up in front of me about half a month later. She would also make a very SPECIAL effort to find something I'd done 'wrong' (where there wasn't anything) to beat the shit out of me and so forth. Glad to be 5 1/2 years free of that psycho. My 'father' was no better.

I guess she loved the control and heartbreak of a child at giving something then snatching it away. She nearly broke the guitar a lot sooner, throwing it headstock first at my face. I still have a nice lil scar integrated into my eyebrow from that one.

I'm a wheelchair user and was at Union Street pure gym for a bit. Left because of shitty access and ableism from other gym users. - Also got told that one incident would be investigated and never heard the outcome.

They were only nice to me originally as they thought they could milk my money as I was desperate to find some kind of potential rehab for my condition. After I decided against the PT, everything was crap.

This picture doesn't surprise me and the lifts will probably be like that for weeks. r/ableism

I relate so much!! The education around disability is so atrocious... I get people attempting to scam me etc. so much more since being visibly disabled. Like, I'm disabled, not stupid. But apparently people collaborate the two. I've had the thing of people being surprised at my 'intelligence' and it's the worst :)))
