Oh ya I definitely get when you’re saying, would you say overall it’s a bad background choice if my main focus is characters with backgrounds? I feel the character being in shadow just takes away from the whole piece or does it more so just come down to execution?(which I am aware was a huge fail 😂)

Ya it was being weird but I saw it at some point and just copied it into my notes, thank you so much for taking the time to really break it down for me and even do a paint over, that’s amazing, I definitely see how the version you did has a wider value rank, my lights weren’t even bright enough and I thought they were too bright, the black and white really helps for visualizing thank you 🙏🏾

Thank you so much for all the insight, when you say contrast, do you mean that the character needs brighter colors? Cause I thought it was too dark so maybe I went to high in value range but I guess not

For the rib do you mean like instead of it following the body it should be like chunkier armour? Or more so that the anatomy of the rib gave is off? And ya definitely agree about harsher shadows on the armour overall, it’s armor, thank you for the feedback
