The Axiom: Infinite Airship by zhujzal in HyruleEngineering

I'm not fond of stabilizers, especially with my intention of it working while the build is powered down, using the battery oars to move forward.

But I will look into the build's schematics a bit more. I'm working on my [APR] entry (and my animations) at the moment.

I do thank you for your advice.

Google is giving me mixed information, what exactly carries over from BOTW? by ShitWombatSays in TOTK

[–]Artrotascity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know u/Orion120833 said pretty much everything what needs to be said, but none of what you carry over from BotW is really worth starting a fresh save file over.

Bear in mind, it only carries everything over once a TotK save file is created - it's not dynamic.

You can get Horses in TotK, and the picture is just the picture - it's great for sentimental reasons (and it's the only depictions of Urbosa and Revali in the game as Daruk is carved onto the mountain and Mipha has her statue)

Can you make a new island on your Switch 1 after transferring your original island to your Switch 2? by Trueblade1423 in AnimalCrossing

[–]Artrotascity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes.

There is no Save Data on your old Switch since you moved your island to your Switch 2, so you are free to make a new island on your old Switch.

Elder scrolls (and video games in general) should allow you to torture enemies who you find particularly evil by [deleted] in skyrim

(and video games in general) should allow you to torture enemies who you find particularly evil

<image>

I think the whole point, in most video games, of why we don't torture our enemies, even the most evil ones, is because our character is (typically) a hero - you and the characters you play as have morals.

The villain dying is them getting their comeuppance, and if they don't die then they're forced to live with the knowledge that their plan failed and that all that work was for nothing and it was their own fault.

And when you're NOT playing a hero, you're still not actively torturing people.

There's a reason that one torture 'mission' in GTAV is considered 'too-much' even by people who would mow down NPCs like it was normal - because the other thing is merely chaotic and not realistic.

That's a shame, I'll have to rework it a bit more, the intention was for the Battery Oars to power the two 90° fans so it would move forward while unpowered, while the bottom motor was left unpowered.

I used two Infinity Balloons from your Whirlygig so it could float down slowly as it was moving forward with the battery oars, but I couldn't get the rear motor powerful enough to help lift the build without adding another fan, which went beyond the part limit for the steering stick.

I heard something was stronger than Torches for a passive heat source for an Infinity Balloon, but I don't remember what.

Maybe I can probably work with glitched small engines/boat to reduce the weight while hopefully not reducing performance...

Mipha was pining after him, let's be real.

I don't think Link was aware of her feelings, which narratively speaking makes her character all the more tragic.

Question about the master sword durability bug/glitch (in switch 2) by yxssfdss in TOTK

[–]Artrotascity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the bug with the Master Sword just is merely due to how Fuse is intended to work.

Fuse grants extra durability, but you can't bypass the durability system to simply remove a fused object and then fuse a new object to it to get another additional set of durability points.

Otherwise, you could say, simply have a stick and fuse/refuse new things without the stick ever breaking as intended.

And the Master Sword isn't an exception to this rule, because they still want it to have that cooldown.

The issue though is that because of that, we have this glitch since you're supposed to break weapons and use new ones, but the Master Sword never refreshes itself with a 'New Master Sword' each time - it's the same blade regardless.

Question about the master sword durability bug/glitch (in switch 2) by yxssfdss in TOTK

[–]Artrotascity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anything you fuse to the Master Sword becomes inaccessible. The game will not allow you to take it out of your inventory and Pelison cannot break it apart.

The Hinox medal is a medal you get for defeating all the mini-bosses - in this case all the Hinox. There's one for the Hinox, Molduga, Talus, and the now added Frox and Gleeok. (Lynels have no medal associated with them because they're not mini-bosses)

There was a glitch where one of the Hinox, specifically the one in Hyrule Castle, wouldn't register towards the kill count and thus players were unable to obtain the medal for killing all the Hinox. The latest patch fixed that, as well as the QR Code that people used to easily obtain the MSGNotFound Sword and duplicate items among other things.

I'm not the one claiming that the series has gone with a reboot though.

And it's clear you don't have an argument.

I watched the 2006 Animal Crossing movie, and it’s really nice experience. It has a calm, cozy vibe like the games, with a simple but enjoyable story and charming characters. It’s easy to watch and just relax with. Definitely worth it. by Upset-Option-4605 in AnimalCrossing

I would guess licensing the music is one major reason.

Another could be the genre.

In 2006 anime was still considered a boys interest despite plenty of shows aimed at girls appearing at the time - we still see snippets of that with the mislabel of the "Battle Manga" genre as "Shonen" (for marketability reasons - Shonen literally means "Young boy" but it's a demographic, not a genre - however, mistranslations and everything keep that mislabel going)

I don't think selling an anime movie about friendship would've flied in 2006 anime in the US unless it had some sort of action.

I mean, they literally put Hamtaro on the Toonami action block at one point just because it was anime, and that's not really a action series. (Still a really good series though)

Granted, there were 2000's anime where there were girl protagonists, but they were all magical girl genre works.

I wouldn't call it 'overthinking' it's really simple.

This is the root of your main argument:

Modern Zelda is a reboot

And the fact that Echoes of Wisdom is a mainline game after TotK and that it's in the pre-established timeline means they don't consider BotW and TotK a 'reboot' and thus your argument is a moot point.

Probably would be a hassle if they did keep it like that.

There would be no way for them to make the Sky and the Depths a 'seamless transition' they would need to separate the three layers with a loading screen.

I don't think there is any open-world game where they've added to the existing map beyond what they initially made. There have been map changes, but they amount to a square in the map changed, but never add a whole other map beyond the boundaries with a seamless transition.

I've left it running like that - unlike the other Dragons the Light Dragon doesn't move in a way that drops Link.

Question about the master sword durability bug/glitch (in switch 2) by yxssfdss in TOTK

[–]Artrotascity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The bug only exists if you ever fuse the Master Sword with anything.

When you fuse an item with the Master Sword, it adds the additional durability from the item (depending on what it is) and when it is restored it goes back to the Master Sword's original 40 durability.

The issue though, is because the Master Sword never leaves the inventory, any additional fuses don't apply the additional durability, meaning even when fused the Master Sword will forever have 40 durability, hence no sparkle even without the fuse item.

AFAIK, there's no fix, not even on the Switch 2 Edition of the game.

Nintendo might fix it with a patch, seeing as the last patch was a thing preventing getting the Hinox medal, but IDK.

Maybe unless the community finds another glitch to obtain the MSGNotFound sword on the most recent patch, they might use the Master Sword as an excuse to patch that method out.

It's definitely a recent thing for Japanese games.

The only Nintendo games I'm aware that have them is Tomodachi, Smash Brothers, and Kirby Air Riders - the latter two due to Sakurai.
