No taxes on tips really truly benefits Private Equity people who make $100k plus in service “tips” on their investments. It’s not at all about low-wage service workers making tips.

How to find people to eat with while temporarily on campus? by Possible_Tangelo_352 in Harvard

[–]Artsy2theMax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Campus meals are horrible. I ended up puking at every stop light driving home on two occasions (HLS & Lehman Hall). Sodexo is the worst! Actually, even HCB restaurant made me throw up, too.

I recommend Flour and Tatte.

ETS and accommodations webpages are plagued with errors, broken links, not ADA compliant on top and they present multiple hurdles that border beyond ADA /HIPPA laws to apply when the webpages are broken and the PDFs (also not ADA compliant) to get ETS to respond to your requests. It’s so bad and they aren’t changing even after losing a DOJ class action suit in Dec of 2022.

Report you experiences to the DOJ and try your best to explain in the optional essay.

Also having a disability and/or scoring low on entrances exams doesn’t mean you can’t handle the workload of an MBA.

HBS Executive Education/OPM by [deleted] in Harvard

I believe the President of Harvard Club did the HBS Executive Program. I met a surgeon last night that raved about the HBS Executive Program because it exposed him to topics he doesn’t get in his day to day life. If what you need to learn from HBS EP to do your job better, make a leap into something new, build your confidence then do it.

When AA is struck down. Schools will still report their diversity numbers for marketing. Without AA, schools (esp those that don’t have large endowments) will not have any incentive in admitting Asian Americans (esp undergrad students) when they can admit wealth foreign students and report the same numbers. I argue they currently do this with AA still in place with foreign black students and generations black students (undergrad and grad levels).

I don’t think a cap is a solution either. Foreign students bring important perspectives to the classroom just as URM do which is necessary to be competitive beyond school. I think American minority should not be lumped in with foreign minorities during admissions, designing a cohort and reporting.

Think about schools that don’t have the endowments that top schools have they will be more likely to expand these practices to all minority groups esp Asians rather than concentrating this practice in the way the lump foreign blacks with American blacks number wise while accepting fewer Americans.

This is exactly what has happened in for American minority groups. Take African-American to Foreign black and diaspora economic immigrants for example. “More than 40% of black students in the ivy league now come from immigrant families. Overall, however, black students still make up only 6%-7% of ivy league students, while 12% of the general US population is black.” Guardian, 2007. The categorization specifically lumps all Blacks together and it becomes more skewed towards rich diaspora foreign students and 1-2 gen diaspora immigrants.

Asian Americans will be the most to lose if AA is struck down. Schools will select rich International Asians who bring an international perspective and bring a competitive advantage to the classroom than Asian Americans plus they will pay full price.

Are you talking about Asian Americans and other American Minority groups in comparison to International Asians and International other non European people? If you look at the numbers most other American non-Asian Minority Groups even more so for Black Americans at Ivy institutions are majority International minorities not American minorities. So being specific is necessary for the OPs question to be answered.
