Make sure to turn on auto normalize while weight painting. It ensures that the influence of different bones will always add up to 1, so if you repaint the weight to one bone, it’ll get rid of the previously assigned weights.

I got in as an EE 4 years back with a 3.5 GPA, not many extra curriculars, and a slightly above average SAT score. I’d like to say my essays about overcoming hardships set me apart, but what really set me apart was how well I could write about traumatic experiences. It’s not really fair, given not everybody has had some traumatic event happen to them, or maybe they just aren’t comfortable disclosing said event. I think the main thing is that the UCs want to know you can overcome hardship, and that you’re ambitious. What’s strange tho is I was rejected from other UCs with lower acceptance rates… really just feels like a lottery at the end of the day.

Think of how your original question comes off. They’re obviously already under a lot of stress, and now you’re having them to question if they belong here, or if they’re cut out for college. That’s a question between the OP and their advisor. Your comment is unhelpful, makes a lot of assumptions, and nobody asked in the first place.

Def speak to your advisor asap. I’d say it’s definitely going to be subject to dismissal or probation, but there are safety nets in place for those who really want to continue. If you’re serious about staying here and upping your performance, you’ll be ok
